Which Monitor is best for me?

Thread Starter
Hello I recently bought a premade computer off ibuypower that I put a 980Ti in. I've researched countless hours for a perfect monitor to buy with my new computer. I can spend anywhere between 500-1200 dollars so it pretty much includes the whole market.

I've been told g-sync is a must. I want an IPS panel, but is it really necessary if it's just me looking straight at my monitor most of the time?

The monitors I've looked at most include:

-ASUS RoG Swift PB279Q - heard the screens are poor and it's a panel lottery, has the best of everything despite being the biggest resolution/size. Worth taking the chance?
-Acer XB270HU - older version of the above basically right? the stand/monitor itself aren't as good looking, is the older model still a great choice?
-Acer Predator x34 - same as the ROG except larger. nearly the same issues but they're even more exaggerated. Is it worth taking a chance?
-LG 34UC97-S - no g-sync/144hz. Can I actually game effectively on this?

Appreciate the help and I'll answer any questions you guys have :$

If you sit pretty close to the monitor, like me, you'll probably be bothered by the viewing angles. Just a heads up.

I have the Dell U3415W, which is very similar to the LG monitor you're considering. If I could afford it, I would have went with the Acer X34, but I just didn't think it was worth spending literally double the price that I paid for the U3415W just to get +40hz and Gsync.

Also, if you do get the LG, just get the UC87C. It's a better version of the UC97C. Much better stand, and is a better color than the tacky gold color on the 97C
