Hopefully this game runs butter smooth and is well optimized. If not it could be a disaster for PC users.
wait until mods come out and then try to say the same thing.

I wouldn't really say that Fallout 3 looked all that good for its time considering games like Crysis and GTA IV existed around the same time. New Vegas wasn't that big of an improvement over FO3, and Skyrim, which was a lot better looking, came out only a year after so NV really didn't look that good for its time either.

The recently posted Fallout 4 PC (supposed @ Ultra settings) screenshots look GOOD, much better than that blurry video!

i don't want to be rude but
are you guys the "new fanbase" that only care about graphics?
gameplay is what matters especially in these types of games.
why aren't we discussing about the new features/content? the slow ass but powerfull suit or the ones that they took out, for example the armour or weapon degradation, less factions..
i m sure mods will fix the graphics in weeks or even days (if you don't like the atmosphere or quality) , but the gameplay it usually takes months.
its a lot harder to change something in the core game and this is a problem because the game seem to turn into call of duty action,
i know a lot of people are ok with this but not old fans.
fallout 3/NV also needed a few modifications cos they kinda went to the same arcadey style but this one...

Woah woah woah. Are you telling me that they removed item degradation?

Because every knows a good game needs photo-realistic graphics!

Sarcasm aside, you make valid points -- I don't remember where I read it, but apparently armor/weapon mods have their own degradation statistic. Considering how powerful and versatile this could make a base weapon, dropping overall weapon degradation in favor of mod degradation could make things more interesting. What happens when your one-shot shotgun laser pistol has it's shotgun mod break and you're stuck with a dinky piece of garbage laser pistol? I doubt they dropped armor degradation or it's a new stat overall that controls condition.
Less factions, we won't know too much about that for awhile now. Pre-nukes, the Army had access to power armor before the Brotherhood began using it... could see a resurgence of an "Old guard" that traces back to the US Army? I think the ones that are semi confirmed are, of course, the Brotherhood, the Minutemen, raiders, and super mutants. Unless you're speaking strictly factions you can possibly join...

I'm hopeful that they will release a higher res texture pack like they did with Skyrim. I'll be long done with the game before the community puts out anything of quality.

Well, it is technically the same engine as Skyrim and Skyrim windows had the same issue as did their previous games on Gamebryo.

Was hoping in their engine improvements they would have fixed that, but guess not.

Now I am just wondering if like Skyrim the physics of the game are tied to your refresh rate... Hmm.

I doubt they changed that. It's probably the same gamebyro engine that powered skyrim with some improvements made in the rendering department along with new code sprinkled around.

i saw in a reddit thread, the original post was deleted but if you scrolldown https://www.reddit.com/r/Fallout/comments/3r3alz/new_screenshots_and_more/

"No, you don't repair weapons, I really don't think this takes away any difficulty due to the fact that there are tons of weapons you can find, it wouldn't be hard to go repairing stuff"
this is so wrong lol
this is one of aspects that adds difficulty, if you like one weapon that you crafted or a good rare item from looting, it would be op to just keep using it, no resources needed no maintenance no challenge at all

the same goes to no survival requirements..

if they think changing numbers of damage dealing or receiving is proper difficulty doh.gif
i will wait for release or reviews..

Everyone keeps saying gamebryo I read somewhere its modified creation engine.

Off the lame graphics topic though, none of the complainers are talking about how Fallout now has a settlement crafting system, which is so epic for this game, or any of the other cool new features.
