I found this from another source, but considering the source is widely viewed I had a feeling that if I used that source the videos would get taken down sooner. So I downloaded them and reuploaded them to another website instead. If these get taken down I have the hard copies, so I will try another site. Also if you go to Vimeo and watch it there you can watch it in HD too if you are disappointed about quality.

I also didn't post this in the Gaming section since it's not confirmed footage of the game.

Here's two more videos:

Some more updates.

Found a nighttime combat video (one of the staff members reported the video on Vimeo, here's an alternative link - For some reason embedding doesn't work with Daily Motion though):

Looks awesome. Shame about those awful bethesda animations, though. At least your personal gun animations and stuff look better.

What he said... are you all looking at the same game play footage and actually comparing to FO3 and new vegas or are you all just jumping on the "omg terrible graphics band wagon"

I am so tired of seeing people bashing the graphics of this game, and even more so seeing people compare it to Fallout 3.

Things to consider:

1. Most of the footage and shots leaking it on youtube and vimeo, which means a lot of compression, not to even think about how it was recorded. This does a lot to ruin the overall look.

2. All i have seen is from console, so its gonna be either a little or a lot worse than PC, only time will tell.

3. As an engineering student specializing in vision and graphics the lighting model in this game impresses me, the atmospheric scattering in amazing and it seems like the shaders are all quite well put together. If i recall it's PBR as well. My only complaints there is that some of the textures aren't quite utilizing the potential of such a system. But i will bet money that they will be higher res on PC, and then i will bet even more money that some amazing guy will spend hours making even better textures for the game which will with amazing lighting system only look even better than usual. It's actually quite clever from Bethesda seemingly, since it provides an excellent base for using higher detail textures and models.

4. It seems like the games color pallete at least in some cases is stylized and not really approaching super realistic, especially for the pre-war stuff. This again might make people scream bad, but really it's more of a choice. And i get it, Witcher 3 went for super real and it looked great. Fallout 4 seems to look good in it's own way so far.

5. It looks better than Fallout 3, common.

No. I don't think so. NV was a 32bit game, this is a 64bit game.
I'm sure they salvaged what they could.

I see a pretty big difference, and the bottom photo was on an Xbox One so expect it to look even better on pc.

Looks average graphically.

As other have said, it's not the same.

Morrowind to Fallout 3 all used Gamebryo. Skyrim changed the trend with their own Creation Engine. Fallout 4 is an update of that engine.

I'm trying to figure out how most of us bash this game for graphics when it's clearly console footage. Look how the player pans around, look how he accesses the pip boy. I have a gaming PC and a XB1 and I can tell ya right off the bat this is console footage.

Difference between complaining and pointing out the obvious. Most won't care about the graphics anyway.

Oh god this looks terrible, the animations and textures and lighting especially. Not that much better than fallout 3 tbh, bethesda games are falling further and further behind the standard at the time with each release.

Obviously it's not all about graphics, but from those videos(could be better on pc in person) it looks rather dated. The worst part is even if it is average at best(the total package) it will get 9 and 10 reviews because of the name and the state of the industry(cant give anything lower than a 9 to a big name hyped up game).

I mean we should have expected this considering the review embargo ends 7 hours before the game releases.

And you see those two as mutually exclusive?

What point are you trying to make exactly? You can't complain about an aspect of a game but still love the game? I complain a lot about many aspects of Skyrim, but like some others, I'm going to log quadruple digit hours into Skyrim.

The fact that some people really hate the graphics but are still eager to play the game means the players care about more than just graphics. Are you ready to bash somebody with such a mindset?
