Do you have any background with 3d modeling and texturing?

Parallax is nice. But you need to understand some things:



  • Bump mapping is not that important. You discuss it right now because you have the time to actually analyze the texture from a static picture. In motion the texture will be fine.
  • You have an open world game. IIRC with day/night cycle that means real time shadows and lightning. You start hitting draw call limits and the graphic engine limits just with that.
  • Skyrim half MODS.Expect fallout mods to do the same
  • Parallax mapping is not easy when you have an open world game. Either you target for really high end or you target for medium range so that means some texture will have bumps and some will not. That also means higher target group something that is bethesda moto.

I bought it on Console... Yes silly me.. Even with my sig rig haha...
So I am not expecting much graphically..

I am hoping for a good story like Fallout 3 and countless hours of exploring the world and killing mutants...

So what you're saying is that we should resort to mods to fix a broken at release game bought at full price? I'm sorry. I don't think this game warrants $60 no matter how much I love their scripts and stories. Everytime they release an Elder Scrolls they gimp it one way or another.

Game looks interesting, I have only played the second Fallout but any of the others. But not gonna lie, the game looks like it is from 2008, those graphics look dated. I would expect more from a game like Fallout.

I never said that. And because you want better texture because of pcmasterrace doesnt mean it's broken. Fallout is not about max quality but it is more about providing an immersive world. Fallout 3 and new vegas was the same. If you expect something else you are the issue.Whining about parallax without any idea why they dont use it on irrelevant textures means that you expect something else.

PCMasterRace is broken considering consoles get all the working titles. I love my PC games like the next guy, but when it comes to new releases the console is almost always the better option because of how broken the games are at release. At least it's playable on PS4. Not referring to textures this time.

Metal Gear Solid V is 60 fps 1080p open world has better textures and everything! Killer story! But it's PC release could hardly get it up even though the fidelity of the shading was much better. It wasn't so much better that it warranted a GPU three times more powerful than the PS4 to get a stable 60.
