As much as I hate to say it... it makes sense.. I don't recall Fallout 3's launch or how warm the welcome was on its graphics, but most people play it for content and how much fun it was while playing.. I mean a stunning world would be more engaging, but if mechanics and content makes up for it... it's still worth the money.

On the PC mods will go in and make it look better so why bother complaining.. Yes for $60 and from a AAA company you shouldn't need mods to do it, but at least there is that option for it to be the best it can be all round..

If I buy an AAA game the graphics need to be there. Yes Morrowind and Oblivion had good games under the hood, but the graphics are what also sucked me in.

For instance I know for a fact Daggerfall is a great game, but can you go back now and play that game? No, because at present the graphics would be awful and distracting. So it is not always the case that game trumps graphics. I need both to be emerged in that world.

Gamebryo is starting to show its age and needs to be ditched not only because of its visuals but the reoccurring bugs and its inability to support high FPS or dual cards etc...

I can't and I won't be an apologist for Bethesda or any company for that matter.

What is wrong with always demanding quality for your money?

Looks like fallout 4 has the same 60 fps cap that skyrim had mad.gifhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k2pgOBK2GN4

Doesn't mention whether or not the physics goes crazy if you unlock it through the .ini file.

Tired of all these games locking the physics engine to the framerate. Honestly, the graphics look good enough for me, but the fps caps really bother me.

I'm getting a little over 70fps at 1440/ultra. Launched the game at 1080 by accident the first time and the Steam framerate counter was showing 120+. There is a bit of tearing in the game for me but it is still playable.

So if anyone wants to play this on a 21:9 monitor, you'll have to edit the .ini

The launcher won't have an option to select your ratio or resolution, and when you enter the game it will be 800x600. You'll need to manually enter this in: C:\Users\user\Documents\my games\Fallout4\Fallout4Prefs

Change
iSize H=600
iSize W=800
to
iSize H=1440
iSize W=3440

iPresentInterval=1
to
iPresentInterval=0
to unlock fps

Haven't test the physics yet.

You don't need to set the file to read only.

Menu will appear in 16:9. Videos appear in 21:9. smile.gif

So on, 2560x1440P resolution I will have to change it? And it's locked at 30 FPS unless I change it?

You should be able to select that in the launcher because it's 16:9. It'll be locked to 72 I think otherwise.

9 1/2 hours until I get the game on Ps4, I will let all those here know how bad the frame rate drops are and everything else tomorrow. I am praying that this game does not suffer the amount of crashes that fallout 3 goty edition did on ps3.
