Also by no means am I saying that everything creative nowadays is great, but it all deserves a chance to be judged fairly. Just a lot of comments posted here remind me of one star reviews on Amazon...

I love great graphics. However, I played Fallout on PS3 and I really enjoyed the game from start to finish, even though it ran sluggish. And just recently played FO:NV. So I'm not one of those guys that complains about graphics, but it would have been nice if FO4 did ship with a better engine, BUT MORE IMPORTANTLY, less bugs, and so on.

But as long as the game is fun to play, has great quests, and a good story, I can wait for the bugs to get fixed.

So you ignored the cumulative user feedback, "went with your gut", and lucked out in the QC lottery. What do you want, a medal? What bearing does your one anecdote have have on the state of XB270HU QC in general? Nothing. How about I too post my worthless lone anecdote of how I purchased the XB280HK, despite mounting reports of poor uniformity and backlight bleed, and received one that suffered from those very issues. Who cares if you happened to get one good unit or I happened to get one bad unit? Displays like the XB270HU earn their poor reputations gradually from cumulative user feedback revealing patterns in quality/quality control, which prospective buyers ignore at their peril.

Also, when it comes to things like panel defects in monitors, there is a very good chance that you might not be as discerning as some other people and oblivious to subtle defects, so you should always be very cautious about declaring that your unit is perfect. It might not be as perfect as you think. Even in games I see this happen all the time; for example there is a bug in Far Cry when running on vista/7/8/10 which causes half the water reflections to disappear, but I've lost track of how many time people have told me earnestly that they have never had the bug, only to withdraw their claim as soon as the missing reflections are specifically pointed out to them. And that particular bug is hardly subtle.

The Witcher 3 had known quest breaking bugs like a critical NPC getting stuck at a certain point. The complaints were flooding in on the CDPR forums, yet I completed the game twice without ever running into any of these bugs long before they were patched out. So just because I happened to be lucky, I guess the bugs never existed right?

"Entitlement". What is it with everyone's love affair with that word these days...

That's really unacceptable, IMO.

I think it looks pretty decent. It's not ground breaking graphics by any means but it definitely looks better than modded NV.

I think you are over-exaggerating about it looking like crap, it definitely doesn't look like crap. It's not amazing by graphics standards, but it is workable. Meaning, SweetFX and Resahde alongside texture mods will improve it vastly. This will all happen in a couple of months. So unless you are a person who must play the game at launch missing out on these improvements, most other people into PC Modding will be able to play the game with how it is supposed to look like.

Now of course the argument can be, Bethesda should have been able to do this on their own time. However, what we must realize is that it is not a PC Exclusive and any improved assets like texture quality would have not been able to be ran on Consoles at all without severe performance issues. Because of this reason, they couldn't have done too much visual improvements on it without having to release two entirely different versions of the game. One for console and one for PC. Now as PC Gamers we expect this to happen, however, when reality strikes you realize this isn't going to happen a good portion of the time. Therefore, as far as graphics go, they will be able to be improved vastly by numerous modifications that will be available. Most likely a month or so out from release. What people should be complaining about are other problems with the game that have been mentioned before in this thread. Like lack of developed voice acting, limited dialog options, and the plethora of various bugs that typically accompany a Bethesda game. These are issues that are understandable to complain about.

That's a stretch bud, you'd have to make lower quality for lower performing PC systems too. This was definitely not designed around the console platform as people are complaining about XBone dipping to 0 FPS. The dips occurred even in consistent scenarios. It appears to me that the game engine is just utter ass terrible. The game engine can not multi-thread.

I dunno, wasn't Crysis 3 released on PC and consoles? And that game on PC is still the best looking game ever made IMO. If Crytek could do it, why not Bethesda?

Go look at the benchmarks game runs fine on lower end hardware with low or medium settings:

http://www.overclock.net/t/1579935/various-fallout-4-pc-graphics-card-benchmarks-1080p-1440p-4k-tested

It runs fine on a wide variety of hardware as a matter a fact.

So you are suggesting it was designed around the PC Platform? Because it definitely wasn't considering the overall texture quality and the corners cut. As many benchmark reviews claim, there is almost no visual difference between High and Ultra. Since when is that a PC designed game? When there is no difference between High and Ultra? Consoles have problems running all games, because they are using outdated hardware. Do we really need to list all the games that current gen consoles have had performance issues with?

Seems the engine Scales pretty well to me with more than four cores:

The 3960X has a 20% performance lead over the 2600K, so obviously it is able to utilize more than 4 cores.

Because it doesn't take a brain surgeon to realize that this game is nothing more than the ultimate money grab from consumers.

The 3960X is technically 20% faster in IPC than the 2600k on a single thread. That's the largest leap the I7-Series processors had. It hasn't improved that much since, although the I7-6700 is looking pretty good.

From what I understand is that the engine only uses two cores, one core the game and another for small bits like audio and data caching so that one never ever hits 100% usage.

The console phenomonon is because of cookie cut games. I'm never going to say a PS4 is more powerful. I am definitely going to say a PS4 is hardly utilized efficiently.
