Skylake i600K noctua cooler

Thread Starter
Hello guys, i wonder if its possible to use for new i6000K this cooler from noctua : NOCTUA NH-U12S http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835608040&cm_re=NOCTUA_NH-U12S-_-35-608-040-_-Product

because in everywhere i look for it spec says it only support sockets 775/AM2/AM3 +/FM1/FM2/2011/1150 and not skylakes 1151.

Will it be ready to mount out of the box ? Or do i need any special noctuas parts to make it compatible ?

LGA1150 and 1151 have the same socket layout, so any coolers that have mounting hardware for 1150 will work on 1151 as well. So yes, the cooler you linked should work fine smile.gif

$65 for NH-U12S? lmaosmiley.gif

You can get the TRUE Spirit 140 rev. A for $50 on Amazon.

Don't know what your motherboard is or case clearance but NH-U12S is 125x158x101mm (WxHxD) with 62.5mm center CPU toward PCIe socket and TRUE Spirit 140 rev.A is 155x165x80mm with 69mm center CPU toward PCIe socket.

TRUE Spirit 140 rev. A gives better cooling and lower noise so it's a win / win .. if it will fit.
