If you have your drives connected to the SATA ports that are on the Intel SATA controller, then installing Intel's Rapid Storage Technology driver will enable your SATA performance to be at its best.
If your drives are connected to the SATA ports that are controlled by the ASMedia controller, then switch them to the Intel SATA ports because the ASMedia controller sucks and will limit your performance.

and i have another unrelated question im using z170 hero. can i connect a Y splitter on every chasis_fan
2 fans on Y spliter into chasis_fan z170 hero ? and use up a total on 8 fans chasis_1 to chasis_4
im using noctua s_12b flx. 3pin fans
