Help me decide: AOC G2460PF or Asus VG248QE?

Hello. I need some quick help with a decision between the two screens in the topic.

As of right now, in Norway at least, the Asus VG248QE is a bit more expensive than the AOC G2460PF. However the AOC has Freesync and no 3D support. The Asus has no freesync, but supports 3D as far as I could tell.

I probably won't ever need the 3D functionality to be honest. And at the moment I can't use freesync because I run a gtx 970, but I may switch to AMD again some time in the future depending on you know how it is. It may be nice to have the freesync option then. Another thing about whether or not to get freesync on the AOC has to do with the fact that it has the exact same price as the G2460PQU which doesn't have freesync. So not getting the freesync version of that would just be throwing out a potential future bonus, I think.

I also learned today that I can get a discount, until tomorrow, on the Asus monitor which brings it to the same price as the AOC one. I have little time to decide and I'm not sure what to go for.

What I'm mainly focusing on for these monitor is of course the 144hz and response time. And I heard the AOC ones are getting or got fixed so that overdrive works over 60Hz. But even with the fix, which one of these would be the better option for response time and smooth frames?

I do some work with 3D-modeling and textures, but I'm planning to get a proper IPS display some time further down the line as well. But in terms of colors, I know these are TN panels and I'm pretty sure I'm using one at the moment. It doesn't really bother me, but for the sake of getting the most out of it: which one of these monitors have the best TN panel?

As far as design goes I think the AOC ones look better with their sort of brushed look. Not that the Asus looks bad, but it seems to have some weird glossiness going on in the frame. This isn't a big deal anyways, just thought it was worth mentioning.

To sum it up:

Asus VG248QE or AOC G2460PF.
Which one has the better response time?
Which one has the better TN panel for the most accurate colors possible within their constraints?
Freesync might be nice in the future, but only if the G2460PF i potentially best.

Thanks for all your help in advance!

Even though there is apparently more input latency on the G2460PF than the VG246QE, I'd also go for the G2460PF just because of freesync.

Yeah I had originally decided on the G2460PF tbh, because of its price and not bad review/s from both users and what I believe to be professionals. The input latency as far as I know was because of the overdrive not working over 60Hz on the first batch of monitors that got recalled. So with the overdrive fixed for all refresh rates I think it should be a lot better.

I'm not actually getting an AMD card in the near future or possibly even for my next upgrade, but it's still nice to have it as an option. Still waiting for the retailer to get back to me on whether or not they have the updated version in stock for this good price related to all the other 144hz monitors that are available.

Thanks for helping me make up my mind, I would get confused if told to get the Asus! tongue.gif
