Corsair Dominator Platinum DDR4 @3000mhz wont overclock past 2400

Thread Starter
Hello guys, as title i got a very big problem with my new ddr4 ram, a dominator kit @3000mhz.

My rig is :

5820K - 4.5ghz @ 1.25vcore
Gigabyte x99 Gaming 7
DDR4 Dominator Platinum 3000mhz ( or it should be )

i got my cpu at 4.5 at manual settings, 1.25 vcore , c3/c6, eist and c1 enabled for lower consume.

I HAVE NOT XMP PROFILE ON, i would overclock my ram manually.

BUT I CANT.

every time i try to set manual timings and voltage, my system wont boot , and let me enter bios to change values.

i tried everything, all timings possible, all voltages ( DRAM / SYSTEM AGENT ) and all option ever, but ram wont boot past 2400mhz

this is a really waste of money on my mind, i would take the ram at 3000.

for now, i got them at 2400mhz @ 1.25 ab/cd voltage, and 0.50 system agent, auto timings.

the ram says that they can reach 3000mhz with 15-15-15-39 @ 1.35 volts, i tried but nothing..

Can you help me guys ?

Thank you in advice.

How much memory and what number of sticks.
I assume you bought all the memory at the same time ie. it's a "matched set".

yup, its a matched set of 4x4 stick @ 3000mhz.

i activated xmp and set ram a 2750mhz, ( 2800 for friends ) at 1.35v @0.300 systeam agent and cpu at 4.5ghz @1.3volt

timing 15 17 17 35, but its not so worth with instability of BCLK at 125 and more heat on the system.

there is a way to take the ram at 3000 without enabling xmp ?

Just looking at the Intel ARK for a 5820k the highest officially supported memory speed for that chip is DDR 4 2133. After that it depends on each chips IMC how far past that it will go.

Some CPUs want that 125 unfortunately. My cpu won't boot 3000 with 100 strap but will gladly do 3250 with same settings on the RAM at 125.
