Need help and few questions about overclocking GTX 970

Gigabyte G1 GTX 970
I7-4790
3 corsair fans ( Front bottom top ) and one case fan at the back.
Kingston 8gb ram
h182-smph mobo
Corsair RM650

OC: +150clock , +500memory , core voltage max, power limit 110, temp limit 80

First time posting here! After following instructions from beloved google, i started ocing and hitting a oc i like ( +150clock, +500memory ( Which adds only 300 shown on gpz ), i'm stress testing with MSI Kombuster, the GTX970 averages at about 63degrees, but the intelhd graphics 4600 under it its having 60 degrees, is it normal for the intel hd graphics to be running this hot when i'm running my gtx970?

Shouldn't the Intel HD Graphics be idle and doing nothing? why is it high, and that's only at the beginning, i believe it will rise. One more thing, despite +150 onclock and +500 on memory, i haven't hit more than 65Degrees, does that mean i can push it further? Is the only thing ( Asides from artifacts ) i should be worried about is temperature?

Thanks !

You should verify your clocks, voltages, and power are not being throttled. If you run GPUz, you can see that info on the graphs. Also, its better to use a benchmark like FireStrike, Heaven, or Valley to verify stability.

I used heaven and valley to oc, i only use kombuster to kind of stress the system, i'm just worried since i don't know if it's normal for the secondary gpu to also heat up, even tho its not being used? is this normal?

The CPU temp is the temp of the CPU, it doesn't report the iGPU temp separately. I don't know about Kombuster (never use it since it isn't a good stress test) but it would be normal for the CPU to heat up whole testing.

IT shows as " Intel HD 6400 60Degrees " so i'm sure it's referring to the built in gpu

Where are you seeing that? Unless they've changed something, there is no thermal sensor on the iGPU.

If your not using the intel graphics, just turn it off in the bios and remove it from the equation all together. 63 C is not a bad temp at all, but the cooler the maxwell cards the better they boost. Just running an CLC and bumping the power target the 970s i had were boosting core 1350. Then i started playing with the rest of the routing OC settings and got them up to 1500. My best results were with temps in low 50s C.

Compare that temp to what Realtemp shows for the core temp, I imagine it'll show the same temps. I looked through the datasheets and there is still nothing to indicate there is a temp sensor specifically for the iGPU.

But as Ultisym said, just disable it in the BIOS anyway.
