Xbox one for an owner of every other console?

As stupid as it sounds i am thinking of buying an xbox one even though i have every other console. The reasons for this are
a) The ps4 doesn't really have exclusive games i like
b) All my friends have jumped ship to xbox one and pc
c) The xbox one has backwards compatibility and more importantly rare replay

Now what i really need is opinions on the xbox.
1. Is the online experience as good as it was on the original xbox and 360?
2. Is the graphical performance differences noticeable in gameplay (stutter, low fps, fps drops etc)
3. Are the exclusives available enjoyable (in your opinion)
4. How are the menus and user interface of the console?
5. How are its media capabilities? Hoping to connect my NAS through dlna to be able to access my video library

Thanks and please give me your opinions in general. and yes, i know i'm very stupid to buy both and no, i am not rich, i am very much a broke student smile.gif

I'm sort of in the same boat currently, the only thing keeping me from buying an X1 is that everybody I know has a PS4. This year has been very "meh" year for Sony.
A & C I agree with, the Rare Replay has me very enticed, I'd love to replay Conker's Bad Fur Day, Perfect Dark, and Banjo Kazooie to name a few.

I had an X1 and PS4 shortly before heading off to college before selling them both. I'll weigh in on my thoughts from being a prior owner.

1. From what I recall the X1's online capabilities are still very much on par with the 360. The download speeds blow the PS4's away hands down.
2/3. I never noticed any performance issues and the UI was just fine for a console [basically W8/W10 mobile], X1 also wins in the UI department compared to the PS4.
4. This is very opinionated, but the X1 does win in terms of shooter games and racing games, Driveclub can't hold a candle to Forza. [imo, ofc]

In the end, after college, I ended up buying another PS4 since most of everybody I know has one. About a dozen PS4 owners to 1 Xbox One owner, it was a no brainer where to go in a social aspect. Now I've run into the issue that the PS4 has nothing I want to play. I'm craving Halo and Forza, and Sony doesn't have an answer to either.

For you it seems the purchase would suit you well since you said many of your friends have changed to X1. If you enjoy shooting and racing games you'd likely enjoy it thoroughly.

I have noticed the ps4 has slow download speeds and a somewhat buggy ui (for me at least).

So if your friends owned neither ps4 or xbox one you would have kept the xbox?

Btw, conkers bad fur day and the banjo games 100% haha

I sold them both around Dec right after launch in '13 since I was notified I was starting college earlier than expected. If I had to keep one it would have been the PS4 I suppose.
My Xbox One had a few issues, the party chat bug was really annoying. I, or a friend would randomly cut out and have to unplug the Xbox to get chat to work again.
Games kept crashing on me, especially BF4. Then there was the power issue...I had to hit the power button about 5 times to get it to work since it kept turning itself off for some reason before fully booting up.

More or less I had a bad console and Xbox suffered from launch day bugs, whereas my PS4 did not.
If I was looking to get into consoles now I would probably go for the Xbox since I prefer shooters and racing games. Games on Xbox are usually $10 cheaper in the US through Amazon and the Xbox is also $299 here as well.

Halo 5, Forza 6, and the Rare Replay interest me more than anything coming to PS4 in 2016. I literally don't think I'll buy a single game for my PS4 in '16. sleepysmileyanim.gif

Now that I think about it my co-worker was looking to sell his Xbox One a few weeks ago so he can get a PS4, I'm going to ask him if he still has it.

I have xbox one and ps4. The ps4 sits and collects dust because there is no good exclusive games other than The Last of Us. The Xbox gets decent use with games like forza 6 and Horizon that blow away any racing game on ps in both the simcade and arcade style.

Plus a good selection of games for free every month which will be even better with next week's update that adds x360 compatability.

My advice is to buy a console first on the games that you want to play and second on the social experience. If X1 has some exclusives that you're into, then get it for sure. If it has non-exclusives that your friends play on Live but not PSN, then get it for sure. But if you already have all the games you want and you have a good social experience, then spend your money on something else.

It's what I do. lachen.gif

Too bad my co-worker sold his, I'll wait and see what "Black Friday / Cyber Monday" bring to the table in terms of deals. My body wallet is ready.

Hope you enjoy it!

Annnd i hate the xbox one haha.

So used to playing on PC at 1440p that xbox one looks like mud. Thank god for rare play, dlna and the tv tuner.

Essentially my xbox has turned into an expensive $500 set top box and emulator.... sozo.gif

You haven't been playing any of your consoles lately, have you? When I play my PC often then start my PS4 I typically cringe at the lesser graphics and framerate for the next hour or so.
Then I forget about it shortly after since I'm stomping everybody. If you focus on the lesser graphics of any console you're going to hate it....that's also why I sold both my consoles at the start because I was too picky.
