Any 15" laptops with 3 hard drives and 32gb ram?

Hello,

I would like to buy a new laptop in the next year or so, and not one of those huge desktop-sh ones. I really like the Asus designs and reliability, but having 3 SSDs is essential. I have a 4tb external and 3tb internal for storage if things fail. This would be my travel laptop, all my main work is done on my main x79 rig (upgrading to a beast 8core skylake next year)

Thanks!

With m.2 in full swing if the mainstream now, there are plenty of options for multiple ssd drives in one mobile machine.

I think 32gb would be the harder filter of the two that you need.

I'm pressed for time at the moment but since there isn't a huge demand on time for this thread, I'll come back to it relatively soon if it doesn't get traction.

You may take a look at the Dell precision line, they also have ultra portables

Thanks looking forward to your return. Also, ultra portables are out of question, as I need the best mobile quadcore i7

What's the budget?

Not recommending it but just curious about the form factor you want. Does the m4800 ring any bells for you?

I prefer boring looking laptops as gamer laptops tempt sticky fingers. Bought my brother a g46vw and it was a stolen a week later. Now he has a Clevo laptop and well he still has it lol

In any case just throwing out some ideas for the form factor and bumping the thread, still busy and a misfiring engine didn't help with the to do list

Ahh no Dell lol, I know they've come a long way but not for me, same with HP. Also a nice apple sized trackpad would be nice, the gaming laptops always have the worst ones.

I take that back, the dells are looking nice, but where is Asus?

Budget is 2500. Keep in mind I'll be adding 32gb ram of ddr4 and three 1tb samsung pro ssds, so I don't want to spend too much.

I'm not a fan of the consumer offerings from Dell but the precision line is pretty good.

Sorry haven't had the time to do the research quite yet, just suggested from experience at present. Kind of not been home in a few weeks and errands kind of piled up. Also moving, then misfiring engine etc etc been busy

Asus is pretty good, have always been known for the cooling in there machines. I haven't looked at there newer offerings.

Gigabyte / auros / msi are great brands as well. Customization might be better in Clevo rebrands though

I dont think they are available yet but the new Lenovo Thinkpad P50/P70 are supposed to support 3 sata devices (P50 = 3, P70 = 4). I only remember this because I was reading about how they will use mobile Xeon's.

They really embody the mobile workstation, these are heavy laptops.

I've seen stuff like this before, the last one I was reading about was Ivy Bridge E on weels, weird how this is ECC serve ram, this is definitely a little much. I'm looking for something rather slim

I may have found it, not as slim as I'd like but definitely the most slim out of the portable desktops
