Lets overclock My haswell E monster =)

ok so i just got done building my "beast" a few days ago. got everything set up. got my GPU overclocked and benched and now its time to overclock my 5820K.... so i def need help as i am fairly new to this. i tried for 4.5ghz, (124x36) with core voltage @ 1.3V... seemed to run fine, but after 15 minutes on aida64 its crashed :/ anyway to mess with any of the numbers to make it stable? or get it close? ill be home tonight and can post pics as we go...

Asus X99 pro,
5820K

Gigabyte 980 Ti G1 (overclocked to 1.5 @ 1.270V 8000 memory)
AX860i
2 Neutron XT SSD's
16 GB dom platinum ddr4 3000 ram

thanks but im looking for more of a 1 on 1 overclock. thats too much stuff to read threw i just want to get it done with supervision you know?

It doesn't need more... If you want to run 4.5 ghz, then increase volts by .05 and see if it helps.. if it doesnt, then just keep edging up. If you get to 1.4v then go back to 1.3 and try 4.4

yes, info like this helps me...

whats the max temps im allowed to get on this? like at what point do i say enough an shut her down? i think the highest temps i got while stressing last night was 67-68..

anything under 70c is fine.... with 1.4v I'd stay under 80.... Thats my personal hard cap.

Ok that helps me a lot. I'll be on tonight posting as I go if you wanna help out that'd be great. So I'm gonna try for 1.275 volts ... 4.4ghz and do a stress and see. What's the recommend length of time to do a stress ? Is an hour good then over night when I go to sleep? I want to tune as I go

OK guys. well after 2 days of tweaking i think im finally done overclocking my CPU and GPU =)


Here is where im at as of now. stable and happy =)









and my benchmarks...







not sure what that driver error is about

The Cache is tough. You MAY find a chip to do 45/45 and then nuthing after.

I feel the sweet spot for cache is 43 if you can pass 45 stable on the core.
