Converting Xbox power brick to power mini itx?

I know this sounds stupid, but I had the idea of turning my old broken Xbox 360 slim into a little steam machine. I gutted it and I am ready to start ordering parts. But the one issue I am having is I need about 300 watts (because I want to fit a small gtx 950 with the help of a flexible pcie adapter) and I want to use a external power supply. I heard of people being able to convert their Xbox power brick so I can power their PC but I can't find out how they did it. If anyone has any solutions or other ways on how to do this, any help will be much appreciated 😊

From what I can see there is only about 135 watts of output from that power adapter. First you need to pick a DC-DC power supply that can deliver the power you need and then find one or multiple power bricks that can deliver the voltage your DC-DC converter needs and the wattage your system demands. There are numerous threads detailing such setups in the small form factor forum. The search box is also helpful.

I can't find anything on it. I must be searching the wrong key words or something. I'm not very good with things that involve electricity haha

If you want to use a 12v power brick, you would need a pico-PSU (they convert the 12v into the various voltages a PC needs):
http://www.logicsupply.com/products/components/power-supplies/picopsu/
http://www.logicsupply.com/products/components/power-supplies/automotive-power/

At 300w load, you need a "real" PSU rather than a power brick due to the cost.

So then do you know of a way I can use a laptop graphics card to cut down the power consumption or a intergraded graphics card for a couple that will be able to handle games like a pro?

Laptop graphics card are just downclocked or die-cut GPUs anyways.... you are better off using a desktop GPU for much lower cost and complexity.

What exactly are your requirements and build?

My goal is to make a solo steam machine inside a Xbox 360 for he price of a console. That's the goal.

Slim GTX 750Ti with a 860k (around 400$ total) or 4690K (around 600$ total) with an ITX board is how you could do that.

I would check the SFF sub-forums, I'm sure they could easily guide you with more appropriate hardware than I can, as mine are just guestimates.

Wouldn't be my suggestion. I'd opt for a cheap i3 on a Thin Mini ITX board and 8GB SODIMM RAM.
