I think what people forget is that most of these surveys include iPad games. If so my GF is more a gamer than I. whistle.gif

My fiance loves playing the Sims.

In fact she requested more RAM and a fast SSD because it would take 20 minutes to load all the families she had in one city.

I never thought that an attractive woman would ask me for an SSD upgrade and furthermore know why she wanted it.

I say hooray to woman that want to game! Lol

This, then it degrades into "statistics are cherry-picked," then "statistics are junk they think tablets are consoles lol," followed by "women don't even know how to play video games they just buy them for their kids," and then, finally, "statistics are just feminist/SJW propaganda - do not believe peer-reviewed research you have not read, science is for witches and wizards"

This just in - there's a high probability that this post will encourage an OCN Gamergate insurgency. I mean, speaking in terms of probability in relation to the posts in this thread, of course. rolleyes.gif

They are getting called out more on it these days,

But that doesn't seem to deter them anyhow,

It's a perception thing I believe. I believe the woman's ownership statistics is based on two factors. If a woman herself owns a console she reports ownership. If her children owns a console she reports ownership. Men tend to think in their literal ownership. I do it all the time when speaking to the wife concerning things in the house. I'm not possessive or controlling, but I catch myself stating my bed, my spot, etc. more often than I say our bed, our house. It's always ours when she's speaking though. I've gotten better about catching myself, but this is a common "fight" in shows and movies as well, so I'd imagine this is far more commonplace than just our (caught it!) household.

It's already happening. I was on 7 down / 756 kbs up (like, 70kbps) for 3 years (business class sucks). I got this connection 30/5. Maybe a week later we get the 200/20 in the area. Score.

Now, yea, I very, very, very much appreciate my current speeds. I can now download 100gb or so a hour. Before, I maybe pulled 75 - 80gb a day.

You'd think that pretty much anything I get download wise I'd be stoked about... Hell no. If I'm downloading something and I don't hit right above 28mb (maybe 24mb+) I get annoyed... Hell, I ever stopped downloading a game on steam the other day because it was hitting 10mb and then going back down to 8mb. Even though that meant the thing was going to take maybe 10 min to download I just couldn't accept it not hitting the speed I expected. I had better luck with it later. tongue.gif

First world.

*It's amazing the change in perception having such a drastic change in net speed has. Reality altering. Pre-loading? Piff, don't need it. biggrin.gif
