Just under 4 GB in 4K so 6 GB in 1440P no.

Not unless you add some extra downloadable texture pack for the game or something.

I stand corrected, sir.

Remember that in SLI you are limited to the RAM on 1 card, not both added up. This is because the cards have to mirror each other.

With DX12 it actually could add up too : D

When I switched from 980 to 980ti I had TW3 settings configured to run around 70fps on OC'd 980, with the same settings on 980ti I got 90+ fps out of the box without any OC, so I'd say around 25fps in TW3 @1440p, which is nothing to laugh at in terms of performance increase.
About the V750 - too much for single GPU, borderline for 2 powerful GPUs. Either get a 550W one or a 850W one. The CM V-series is great quality.
The Z97X Gaming 5 from Gigabyte is a good choice, I own one myself, it has 8-phase digi VRM found on Z97 SOC Force and the UEFI has much more options and is better designed visually then e.g. on asrock (remember to change the uefi resolution right away with F7 key:))
I'd get another cooler too, I can vouch for D15S which keeps my CPU temps quite good under gaming load on 4790k. Running 4400MHz base core - 40 degrees in Dying Light, 45-50 in FC4, 50-55 in TW3. This is as good as people get on H100i or better ones even. I'd not be afraid to get some cool Thermalright stuff as well, I used to own the Macho 120, great cooler. For 4790K you'd want a Macho X2 or True Spirit Power tho, since a i7 Haswell without delid is probably just after the sun and Jessica Alba as far as hot things go.
