Benq Xl2720Z Display mode not working ingame?

Hello.
So i want to scale my game down from 27 inches to 24 inches ingame. And i have lowered my hz to 120.
I can scale it down if i go on the desktop. But when i enter the game its still 27 inches. And when i try to do it ingame the display mode settings are grayed out. Anyone know a fix for this?

Hi Rexmanx,

(looks like your game is overriding the windows refresh rate due to an Nvidia card setting).

You can not use any monitor scaling options at 144hz refresh rate because 144hz uses reduced vertical blank. This is incompatible with displaymode scaling.

You also can not use display mode scaling with "Vertical total" tweaks either (VT tweaks are used to reduce strobe crosstalk during blur reduction, and for single strobe blur reduction to work under 100hz at odd refresh rates (like 80hz, 75hz, 91hz, etc). While they are still there with VT tweaks (e.g. VT 1354 @100hz or VT 1497-VT 1502 (this is the normal "high" VT tweak range", the scaler will get confused and make "Aspect" available again (long explanation as to why) and the scaling options will show the wrong aspect or will have distortions/corruption. You probably aren't using VT tweaks however (although if you are using blur reduction, you definitely should be using them. Check my posts on blur busters forums about it)

Most likely your game is setting the refresh rate to the highest available. You can override this behavior by going into the Nvidia control panel and change "use highest available refresh rate" under one of the direct3d or game settings. (I don't have an Nvidia card so I don't know where that setting is).
