[Techpowerup]Black Ops III: 12 GB RAM and GTX 980 Ti Not Enough - Page 14

I think the graphics GASP look fantastic this time. Treyarch put work into this title. I could not believe my eyes playing campaign when I got to the stormy looking mission. Some of the best weather effects I have ever seen in a game. Dare I say possibly the best?!?! WOW! This is on PS4. I stopped after that mission was over for now. Play more tomorrow. PC should be looking that much more amazing. I am sure it does. Would be a total sham if they botched it running poorly for PC. Because the game play, graphics and presentation are all great SO FAR!

Sounds like another typical attempt to push up the sales of graphics cards. Thanks for giving another reason of not buying games during day 1, still lol.

Sounds more like a tech site pushing unreasonable settings to create headlines and most of the people eating it straight up. Gaming community too often just seems like a poisonous group of halfwits looking to get their whine fix.

Take a wild guess is the PS4 version running at even close to the same settings as Techpowerup?

I have virtual Mem/pagefile disabled

So pagefile here is Ram used for game and background+ram reserved for vram swapping etc.. it was peaking at 27gb.

Vram is at 9gb for 1440p.

The difference between the graphics from say COD 4 or mw2 compared to now are minimal to me, and I have no freaking idea why it takes a 980ti to run this garbage, whereas a ati 4870 would run cod 4 and mw2 maxed out. It really does not make sense to me.
Sorry AMD

No I don't think he is making stuff up, but he should post the full graphics settings he is using. Additionally game taking up available resources is not the same as game actually needing them.

Is he actually rendering 1440p or using the built in DSR-clone/setting that is in the game. What type of AA and how much is he using?

I had the very same issue with Advanced Warfare; serious stuttering and hitches at high framerates due to asset streaming. The issue only gets worse as you play for longer periods of time due to the absurd RAM/VRAM usage. Meanwhile Crysis 3 is stutter free and looks so much better it's not even funny.

If Crysis 3 can make do with 6GBs of VRAM and GBs of DRAM, then this game should be no exception. Looks like a no buy for me.

Bet he is one of those ppl that nvr bothered to check facts n made a assumption based on
His world=real world= everybody world

No game has hit my pagefile above 16gb. Its normally just below it or arnd it. This is a first. 4k dude with pagefile disabled.. Hope somebody post a screenshot of their osd on whats the pagefile value on AB osd.

Again with pagefile/virtual mem disabled in windows ..
The osd pagefile value is ram used for game+background+ram reserved for vram swapping.

Testing later with 980ti sli. Techpowerup indicated 16gb was butter smooth with the ti while 12gb was good for TX.
So theres a issue here on how much the game engine needs vs how much is on the vram vs how much is reserved for the next swap.

So lets see whether that ti claim was true with 16gb. And i suspect as with vermintide.. Cpu is heavily being used for light/shadow. Assumption here since both are different game engines.

Codaw 1440p maxed out with supersampling
NSx7TyCQ.jpeg

11.5gb vram, 20gb pagefile. So what gives with codbo3??
Codaw one could play 5k on a single tx n get 60fps.
