[YT] Fallout 4 Launch Trailer - Page 11

Lol at the comments, at first it was "I am glad they compromise on draw distance and graphics to keep a steady 30fps" now it's "15 fps is not even that bad does fps even matter?!".

Why are console players always compromising and making excuses.

Jesus Christ this looks awful. I am sorry but this doesn't deserve a penny to throw at it. The character models, the environments , hell even the dog looks awful. In all honesty I haven't played any of the Fallout games and this trailer discourages me from spending or even downloading pirated versions of them.

Just on the trailer I would rate this as a 2 , I have no idea what the hype train for this game is but to be honest people have to be deluded not to see that the fidelity of this game is IMO on the level of Halo 1
There are games from 5 years ago on engines far older than what this is on and they look better than this well abomination.

Thanks for the link, and ouch a lot of what is talked about should never happen. I wonder if Xbox One will have the same issues. The thing that worries me is it says this framerate drop even happens after the day 1 patch.

Before I played Fallout 3 I thought it looked like nothing special, a year later I kept hearing good things about it and decided to give it a shot and fell in love with the game. The trailers imo do not do justice to the games for people who have never played them. I just played through all the Halo games about 2 weeks ago and if you think this game has the same fidelity as Halo 1 then you might need to get your eyes checked out.

More videos of the slowdowns and the very bad loading times going between doors etc.

Do you know if buying a 7200rpm or a SSHD would fix any of these issues? I know it should help with loading, but I am wondering if it would help at all with the slowdowns.

Oblivion had to run on an X360, and it was even downgraded prior to release a la Witcher 3, and yet Oblivion was still the best looking thing on PC in 2006. People who remember back to that time would be understandably disappointed in Bethsda. Gambryo fatigue has set in, and some fans are sick of seeing Bethesda release game after game with pathetically minor incremental improvements in visuals. I'm not sure about "terrible", but alongside the likes of TW3, it's embarrassing.

People try to justify it with "gameplay" and "story", but it's not like Bethesda has demonstrated any extraordinary talent in those fields either.

Oblivion had the "best" graphics in 2006?

I hope that was a joke.

Oblivion had moments where it's scenery looked great, but the buildings, animations, and characters were always clunky and ugly looking.

Are you seriously trying to compare modded HL2 to stock Oblivion?

Mods don't count.

But I'm the first person to admit that Oblivion's visuals were massively inconsistent. I've always said that a few steps in one direction or a 180 degree turn can be the difference between Oblivion being a very pretty game and downright hideous. This is a feature of Gamebryo, and Skyrim etc. are equally affected. I remember already mentioning Oblivion's atrocious character models in one of these threads too.

Maybe I should rephrase: Under favorable conditions, Oblivion was capable of the best graphics in 2006. Let's not pretend that people weren't drooling over it at the time, and it was the go-to hardware demo/benchmark game until STALKER (and later, Crysis). Oblivion was the Crysis of it's time in terms of graphical prestige.

I laughed so hard on this one. I hope that I didn't wake anyone who was asleep at my house. The fun train pulls of the station on Tuesday and I for one will be on it.

Lol they reused the skyrim shield animation, this is why they slammed the door on him at e3 presentation to hide it. Those animations..............

The meme "like skyrim with guns" is finally true thumb.gif
