Mostly due to all the Propaganda which even has us AMD users believing it. If you keep reading it everywhere and all the Intel Fanboys keep writing it up as that constantly, it will affect you subliminally. Remember how the media can say what ever it likes about suspect(s), then even when they retract their statement about that person everyone still believes they did it.

Don't worry, given time when everything is out in the open all will be revealed. Suspect Stilt holds AMD far higher than Intel because Intel for years has produced sub-standard hardware hence AMD has to do better than them.

Indeed.

I guesstimate without lapping the Die, I could de-lid probably a sum of 40 ZEN processors within an hour.

I need help getting 40 ZEN processors to de-lid tongue.gif x2

Sorry, brother, but if I'm going to rob a truck it's going to be filled with money, not processors.

HAHA! Yea me too. Then buy a bunch of processors.

Likely going to de-lid some ZEN processors. But this will greatly depend on pricing. Likely a lower priced ZEN chip, not the flag ship to start with.

BUT

With the low TDP offerings being reported, we might see these chips without any solder at all! Which would be so great because every one can de-lid these chips!! 65W and 95W chips seldom had solder in the past.

The FX line was mainly 125W and 95W respectively, but AMD continued the soldering process due to thermal transfer properties. Thermal Interface Material would be no good beyond 95w even with the lowest binned 95W FX-8300.

We will see.....
.
Perhaps some big shot could send me an engineering sample before launch. I will conduct some research shortly about the IHS plates in these ZEN chips, but at this time I believe there is NO real information about how the IHS plate is fastened to the PCB.

P4 wasn't held to the same standard?

I had a Pentium 4 which ran at 3.2ghz with piss poor performance. Saw my buddy with his Brisbane x2 4200+ run Windows and counter strike with buttery smooth performance. Do you know which cpu I bought for my first build? An x2 4600+. It wasn't until Vishera and literally this July that I switched to Intel. Had zen met it's initial October 2016 release date, I'd be sitting here sporting an AM4 platform with a vega GPU.

The Stilt is right. AMD has failed its consumer base. Didn't enjoy forking over 300+ for a cpu, but what else can I do when it doubled the fps in all my games?

See sig. But paid closer to 300 for the board cpu and memory used.

I hope not. If AMD gets ultra-cheesy like Intel with this cruddy TIM bottleneck forcing customers to delid nonsense...
