I was under the impression they had more than the 21 characters lined up, my mistake.

Does Blizzard give you access to the beta if you pre-purchase?

This game is not TF2... Its very different from what I've noticed --- TF2 is annoying and I didn't get that feeling from OverWatch.

I think the price is justified. TF2 is old and I welcome more team games like it to play.

Bizzard wants the customers to pay for their product. I see no problem in that because they are not a ******* charity organization!

The good thing about the price tag is it will prevent hackers and mitigate the number of smurfs because this game will be played competitively as most FPSs and DotAs do, so those 2 things are a problem which blizzard chose to deal with by adding a price tag. Hackers will be reported easily and ultimately their account will be banned just like with all other blizzard paid games. Accounts become less expendable.

However there will be a problem with their future content. I am sadly disappointed that you can't buy all the future heroes like you can in Smite. The only worrying thing is will the future heroes be locked behind a paywall or will players be able to "earn" them. Either way that will be a hassle.

The way they deliver future content can literally kill this game.

That's a bad move for them and not us the customers. What they should have done is to make it free to play, so everyone tries that out. Then when they have a high enough user base, they should added items that can be bought/ ultimate item pack.. something like that and price it for $120. Now nobody is going to try it until they get enough popularity which i see is not happening soon. biggrin.gif

I think the price is justified. TF2 is old and I welcome more team games like it to play.

TF2 started out amazing. Defined classes with pretty high skill caps, balance between teamwork and solo skill, quality balanced maps. The game was like a slower, team and strategy focused quake.
Played it at the highest competitive levels and the game was a blast. Pugs (not pubs) were great too. Valve did pretty well with their first few class updates, but once the hats, skins, and several weapons were released it was clear they no longer cared and only wanted to make money.

If people dont know, TF2 had a few beta versions, one of them was specifically for higher tier competitive players to test unlocks, and we could talk to robin walker directly and other members. Well, right before valve started releasing bad unlocks they pretty much stopped the beta and ignored the forums.

If blizzard wants this game to be taken seriously, (although at the risk of not making more money), skins should HEAVILY be curated, any unlockable items or characters must be highly balanced and acquirable without paying dlc. I will probably pay for overwatch solely in hopes it can be as good as old TF2, but the minute they turn it into a pub only game, its dead to me.

I don't believe that's happening and even if it does, the duration must be high enough for people all around the world to notice and give it a try
