Its nice to have high benchmarks scores but unfortunately they do not translate in to real world performance, never has been never will be. That is why i hate reviewers that only uses useless synthetic benchmarks to show the people how good the product performs.

That is why I test for myself, and use it thumb.gif

PS: I don't use 2x sm961 1TB raid-0, I use one for OS/games and one for scratch/shadowplay/etc.

That said, it is possible to beneficial 2x sm961nvme, it depends on the workload. Not for gamers wink.gif

That is very good and very wise to do.

You say that you don't use the raid 0 but use both as individual ssd's and just wanted to show us some amazing benchmarks scores? In that case i am really amazed by the scores to be honest but then again, it sonly for high epeen and does nothing for everyday usage.

For example, if you do video editing and such, its not the storage that is the bottleneck but the CPU most of the time especially when you export or render. Even your very fast i7 5960X is brought down to its knees when working in Adobe Premiere pro especially when you work with 4K footage. I know because i work with that program.

Hey guys, in AS SSD, I'm only getting 2100~ reads and 1400~ writes. My SSD is a 512GB 950 Pro (capacity at around 280GB used). Samsung Magician is showing 2400 reads. What could be the cause of low read in AS SSD?

So question about this 950 Pro...

Tonight being the last night and all for the Free Windows 10.

I am thinking I should do it on my main rig that has Win 7 Ultimate on it; upgrade it to 10 just so its done and I can learn how to use it, etc... The main rig has all the newest hardware in it so it makes more sense to do that one.

I have about 168GB free space on my 950 Pro....

Could I partition off about 100GB of space on this 950 Pro and redo it properly with GPT this time, and do a fresh/clean installation of Windows 10 onto that?

Thus then keeping my existing Windows 7 temporarily on its seperate partition, until I decide to either go back to 7 or wipe it out and keep 10. Presume I then decide to keep 10, would I then be able to reformat the 7 partition as GPT, and merge it in with the 10 partition?

I am also presuming that doing it this way, would also allow me to copy over a lot of things like my Steam folder, for example... and not have to worry about having to back that up...

You could have reserved Win10 digital entitlement on all your rigs without actually upgrading existing Win7 or Win8.1 installations. Too late now I guess.

I thought that Samsung would come with an update of magician software in order to get better read/write performance in the benchmark of the software.. its been a while now and there is still no fix for this incorrect benchmark scores in magician software.

Its only supposed to fix how it reports Random Read on the 950 Pro.

Yes but even that is not accomplished with the latest magician software. I don't think they will attempt to make it better.

Just got my Samsung 950 Pro yesterday. Noticed you guys are putting heat sinks on it, anyone has a link to low profile heat sinks? Mine seats below a gpu frown.gif

EDIT:

Installed samsung drivers and ran samsung magician 3x and this is the result I get. Any ideas?
