This was discussed in the thread earlier, but basically it seems about the same. negligible improvements; slightly higher write speed but slightly lower read speed IIRC. I think it's probably moreso a reliability improvement.

I have Samsung 950 Pro 512GB, on Z97 mobo with 3.0 x4 pcie adapter. I will post benchmark results when I have chance.

I bought it for no other reason than it was best SSD at that moment at market, so lets grab the best biggrin.gif . To be honest, I do not notice any difference in my work compared to SATA3 SSD. Only notable difference I remember in Starcraft 2 when loading new level, in that case, it is notably faster.

Will try that firmware update.

For mine I have it setup as
launch csm = auto
boot device control = uefi and legacy
boot from network = ignore
boot from storage = ignore
boot from pci-e = uefi

for some reason putting boot device control to just uefi stops detection smile.gif
also check for an "above 4G decoding" option if that doesn't work

Hey there,

I have a 950 Pro using M.2 slot of Asus RVe. Latest BIOS on Asus, running Windows 10 Creators Update. No Intel RAID involved. Yet Samsung Magician 5.0 can't see my SSD ?! I did an install from scratch this week-end to get the 950 Pro up to the new firmware : but before installing Samsung NVMe 2.2 drivers, Magician 5.0 lists 950 Pro as "Samsung 950" with no options at all (no firmware versioning read, etc) and when I install 2.2 drivers the 950 simply vanishes.

Am I the only one ? Are there any solutions ? How can I upgrade the firmware ?

Thanks !

Hi, this is my first post.. smile.gif

I have 950 pro 256GB and the firmware is 1B0QBXX7, and i update my firmware, but the bench score is not good enough, the read spead decrease almost 200MB, but the write spead only increase 5MB/s, not worth it.. If i want back to 1B0QBXX7, how the procedure?

and for the last, i use Ryzen 1700x and x370 msi pro carbon, i need 18 minutes to enter the windows desktop, befor i update the bios to the latest one, i need 30 minutes to enter the windows desktop (win10 64bit), when i ask msi support service, this is because my samsung 950 pro not in QVL yet, but when i look the QVL there is 960pro. is this make sense?

Thx.

18 minutes? Not seconds? That's insane ...

First off you need to know that when benching SSD's the speeds are all over the place and its because it is being used in Windows..

I don't know about boot times but that seems kinda ridiculously long.. Are you sure you meant minutes instead of seconds?

QVL list is highly overrated. I am running memory that is not on the Asus QVL List and its working just fine. Among other components that are not on the QVL list. My Samsung 950 Pro also is not on the Asus QVL list but its working perfectly well.

I guess you have to wait for BIOS update in order to fix your boot issues. Do you have other problems than what you mentioned?
