New monitor advice.

Thread Starter
Hello guys, I'm in the market for a new monitor for quite some time now, and since I got an influx of cash, my budget jumped from used monitors, to a decent new one.
That said, I'll be buying from this retailer and my budget is around 320KM on the site (that's 160€ or 180$).

These monitors caught my eye :

AOC E2460PHU
ASUS VS247HR
ASUS VX229H

The first two are TN, 24" 1080p displays, the last one is 22", but it's AH-IPS that's better in image quality.

AOC E2460PHU - 326 BAM
+ 2ms
+ 24"
+ Lot of inputs (DVI, HDMI, VGA)
- TN
- 60Hz

ASUS VS247HR - 317 BAM
+ 2ms
+ 75Hz
+ 24"
+ Lot of inputs (DVI, HDMI, VGA)
- TN

ASUS VX229H - 313 BAM
+ AH-IPS
- 5ms
- 22"
- No DVI
- 60Hz

So, with the pros and cons in mind, and since I don't care about the speakers if they even come installed in the monitor, what would you guys pick ?
I'm leaning towards the ASUS VS247HR since it's fast with 2ms, and is 75Hz compared to the other two.

I'm not sure if going IPS is worth it ? I know everyone is saying that IPS is way better for image quality but I've never seen an IPS monitor in person so I can't be the judge of that.

Any help will be appreciated smile.gif

I primarily game, but do everything else too (like watch movies and do school work etc.)

I haven't found many reviews for these particular monitors so that's why I'm asking.

I can tell the difference between IPS and TN instantly. The images on TN are not as clear or sharp and the colors and angles are worse. After going IPS I'll never return to TN. There's almost no reason not to go IPS. The only way I see you go TN is you barely use your computer or you are a competitive FPS player and need the high refresh rates or you are trying to cut costs down. Go see an IPS panel in stores and you will see the difference.
