Can you up the GTX 970 power target?

Thread Starter
I recently upgraded my GTX 680 to a GTX 970 and I was wondering if there is a way to adjust the power target of the cards now? I can get my card up to around 1530-1550/8000 and stay under 70c, but I seem to be getting limited by the 112% power target according to GPU-Z.

I notice you can OC the core voltage and I tried playing with that, but it didn't seem to matter, as I was still limited by the 112% power target over all total.

I know there was no soft or bios mod way to get around this on the GTX 680 I owned. Is there a non hardware mod way to get around this on the GTX 970 now?

So these cards are not limited, or not as limited on TDP via hardware on the card like the reference GTX 680 was?

I ask because I know you could try flashing the GTX 680, but it never mattered on the reference model, as it was being hardware limited.

Assume you have the 970 G1 the stock bios limit is 280W while the hardware limit around 400W that's plenty for any OC..

keep in mind maxwell gpus don't scale with voltage you will see higher voltage give you a few extra mhz like 1.250v vs 1.300v = 20mhz or less sometime

Thank you very much. I am just wanting to see where it will hit with out much of a power limit in place without exceeding 75c.

I will do some reading on how and where I should modify my BIOS. I already have it extracted and am looking at it in the Maxwel II Bios Tweaker.

I really just want to bump that Power Target Limit up to maybe 120-125%. Just a little boost and something that won't be a problem 24/7.

Is there anymore information somewhere on what to adjust in this power table? Only think I can find is at http://cryptomining-blog.com and what they have linked in their power table is a bit different then mine. I am wondering if it is because they are working of a 970 that has 2x6 Pins and I have 6+8 pin power delivery.
