Just use one of the spare ports for filling. The rad should be running through the port that has the acrylic tube. It helps keep the water from sloshing into res and making noise.

so in order to prevent water fountain loop should be filled while running? then just closing that port?

Full is normal operation. But, I can tell you this could be bad in many ways if you don't fill. But, that's your choice. You asked, we informed.

I know what you mean, but I can't say I've had the same problem. When first priming the loop, I fill up my (small 200 mL) res, turn on the pump and let the res run almost dry, then keep filling it up for a few more cycles until the water level more or less stays where it is when the pump is running. Then I spend about 15 minutes turning the pump on and off every 30 seconds or so to get most of the big air pockets out. I top off the res once more, then just let the system run for 24 hours on its own, checking once every few hours to make sure everything is still running alright.

Power up your pump, tilt your whole case so the any air will move up toward the outlet in the top RAD. Once you do this have your pump on maximum and give it a few knocks, this should dislodge any air trapped in the top RAD. You will know when it is pushed out because you res will look like it has red creaming soda in it and the level will drop significantly when all coolant gets sucked into the blocks and rads. Once it sucks in all the coolant quickly turn off the pump and refill the res and repeat until no more bubbles and coolant level stays the same.

The loop doesn't have to be running to fill it. There are two ways to do it IMO.

1. Fill the res till almost full with the pump OFF.
2. Turn the pump ON and wait for the reservoir to be almost empty, then turn the pump OFF.
3.Repeat.

OR

1. Fill the res with the pump OFF.
2. Turn the pump ON and continually add coolant. Making sure that the reservoir never gets empty.

What is this water fountain thing you kept referencing? The rad should be connected to the port that has the small tube inside the res, so that shouldn't happen. Use one of the other ports to hook up a fitting, some tubing and a funnel (That's usually what i do anyway).

Yeah I will add more coolant later this week - just ordered second liter ( I only had 1 liter for 600ml reservoir+360rad+480rad+4blocks)

The water fountain I was referring is when removing the filling hose from reservoir and water from top radiator starts coming from that port (but I'm not sure if that could happen when loop is running.. Magnek mentioned it shouldn't cause fountain when loop running

Dont just add more coolant, take my advice above and try dislodge the air stuck in the top rad by tilting your whole case so that the any air the top rad will have to move UP towards the outlet port. Once you get it to the outlet port it will get push d through the loop and into the rez.

The small acrylic tube in the res is to guide the water more toward the middle of the res before it mixes. This helps reduce sloshing of water which can cause bubbles, noise, and i suppose a mess.

I also agree that tilting the case forward will help the get the air out of the rad. I think you should wait till you have more coolant though. An air bubble that big could potentially cause the res to empty with that little coolant to spare. It would make the loop not usable till you added more.
