Amount of water for rezervoir - Page 7

You don't have to keep adding it until it overflows.

Start it and see it being sucked in, the only way you can remove those bubbles is by shaking and turning your case about otherwise they'll simply remain in the loop and not in your res. Once the bubbles come to your res you open it again (turned off) and pour more stuff in and rinse and repeat. You'll end up with fairly full res and no bubbles. There's no scenario I can think of when it should be causing a "water fountain".

ehh my bad about that water fountain.. it's just first thing that came to mind when I was thinking about taking out filling hose from reservoir and all the water from top radiator would smash overflowing reservoir and become a fountain hitting from the filling port. But guess it won't happen once loop is running.. so will check this in a couple days.

other that that loop is fine, no bubbles or anything that would restrict flow. I was just sitting for past couple hours looking at tubes and not a single bubble or "air pocket" was noticed in the loop

That should mean you filled up your loop enough. You don't have to keep going, unless you want it filled to the top

They problem is that you don't have a tube inside the res.
Normally there is a tube that feeds from the top down into the liquid, this prevents the component ( in your case the rad) from draining into the res.

You should see if there is a tube that goes in there to prevent the draining from happening.
This shows you what I am talking about.

thanks I got that acrylic tube inside reservoir... I run it upside down (not like in picture) and tube comes from top
Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

everything was figured out - a lot of OCN folks fill their loop all the way to the top while loop powered (this way coolant is evenly spread between reservoir + radiators + waterblocks) - some don't fill it up all the way... guess depends who has open-top reservoir and who has closed-top.

I have the same issue as you with my XSPC D5 Photon, though turning it on and off is only 1 or 2 cm difference. Luckily it has a tube in middle though only for lighting. Though I have seen my water gone down over the last few days too. Please keep us updated.

If all of the tubes go in and out from here.
Bleeding will be in terms of seconds. biggrin.gif

Since I've encountered more or less the same issue with 2 360 top rads, I will explain what he meant by 'water fountain'. wink.gif

When he turns the pump off, the extra pressure that it generates to push the water inside and replace the air will dissipate. Which lets gravity back to its business pulling the water down. So when the pump is off, the air pocket will reform in the top rad and the water it displaces back to the res will overflow out of the fill-port which he currently has open.

OP, since you already have enough coolant to not let your pump run dry, simply turn your loop on (jump-start the PSU when it's only connected to the pump - just in case coolant spills. It will not spill using this method, but anything can happen.), unplug the fill-port, add more water to the res and seal it back.
When you do this, the air that is in your res will be replaced by the coolant you add and will end up in your room, i.e. out of the loop. This assures no pressure change in the loop, so you will be safe from a 'fountain' if you have to disassemble in the future.

Once you have filled your res to the desired level, seal the plug.

Then you are perfectly safe to shut it off and do whatever you want. smile.gif

I would just umm place your pc flat on the ground then tilt the res/pump so it's higher than the radiators and do a few 'on/off' toggling on the pump, it seems to me you have alot of air on the top radiator. How long is that outlet tube from top radiator to the reservoir can you tilt it up/down when you lay the pc flat? Here's I'll make a drawing

The water fountain will happen to any build. any type of connections.

Only if you do not have a pump, Some how the water moves by its self then you may not get any fountain biggrin.gif
