we all know what each hardware is capable of. fallout 4 is just not written for amd and we will have to wait for support.

Wow Guess AMD will catch u as usual. Would like to know how the game is ? Also, since when did people started referring to GTX 970 as a 3.5G+.5G card

It really is unacceptable. I don't care if people want to call me a fanboy or whatever.

Never should a 770 be in the same conversation as a 390/290x.. It's a damn joke, Gameworks titles are getting worse and worse, i'm sick of it.

Gimpworks title, so not really a surprise.

I thought this game being a Gameworks title was just a rumor?

Anyway, I think this has more to do with AMD's driver overhead issues more than it does anything else. That 's AMD's fault.

You know since only DX12 matters to AMD now...lol

May be becoming the norm, COD BO III graphic results are all over the place and now F4.

Will be getting worse as fragmentation in the PC segment continue to increase.

of course if you test AMD hardware with gameworks features on performance tanks.

This being such a large release makes you wonder if AMD has a driver ready for this game, AKA omega 2.0 rumors.

I really hate gameworks stuff, Nvidia people who think it's a good idea should be dragged by their genitals into a burning pit of fire. Nearly every game with gameworks features runs like complete garbage.

gtx770 beating a 290?

Come on, man.

GW has nothing to do with it. AMD's issues are poor tessellation performance and high driver overhead.

Direct your hate towards AMD, for having significantly higher driver overhead than Nvidia.

Keep telling yourself that.

Just turn the Gameworks features off if you don't want to use them. They are not required! Then again, I don't think these results have anything to do with Gameworks.

So you are saying AMD has solved their driver overhead issues? Proof?

Regardless of AMD clearly doing bad here (wasn't unexpected to be honest knowing bethesda and nvidia's relationship overall) the game itself doesn't look good and yet the performance is worse off than games that look much better.. like GTA V for example.

I can excuse less than stellar graphics, but the performance for the visuals offered is a joke at it's current state. Nvidia or AMD.

Meh, no surprises here. Not only is it a gameworks title, but Bethesda's creaky DX9-era engine has always been particularly sensitive to driver overhead.
Yep. I hope Bathesda will learn to make real DX11 games by the time they release next Elder Scrolls game

Looking at these results again, things are definitely funky.

  • 770 is like 2x as fast as a 760 at 1440p, yet it's almost the same as the 780 TI. What?
    headscratch.gif
  • 960 is relatively slow at all resolutions compared to its Maxwell brothers
  • 390X is matching a 770
  • Fury/FuryX performance goes WAY up as resolution rises
  • Yet the game isn't completely CPU limited, as the 980 TI is soaring above everything else.

I'm so sick of seeing this. PC gaming has been incredibly disappointing lately and it makes me sad to see the trend continuing.

I'm torn because I've been waiting years for this game but I feel like I should cancel my preorder on principle.
