[PCGHW]Fallout 4 in art test with benchmarks for release - Page 15

I hope that screen shot is the worst they could find to prove a point. That literally looks worse than some 360 games lol. Yet the game is also nearly as demanding as TW3..

I would not have any issue with that at all. The problem is that it wouldn't be AMD that would have to implement it, it would needs to be the developers. While it is plausible that Nvidia with their large market share could strong arm developers into programming in a very Nvidia friendly way, I seriously doubt AMD could do the same. What dev is going to intentionally make their game run poorly on 82% of PC's? That is of course assuming that there is no way nvidia could make improvements in that arena from the software side of things.

I don't know if I buy into the Nvidia trying to kill AMD conspiracy. It seems equally plausible that developers code for the majority and just expect AMD to eventually catch up with drivers. This seems to be the way it happens, early benchmarks show an Nvidia lead and eventually newer results (with newer drivers) usually show that gap has been closed up.

I'm so expecting AMD to start calling foul, yelling how gameworks is ruining everything for their cards, how nvidia have been doing this on purpose etc etc.
And in about a week or two new AMD drivers come out with much better performance, and they will keep silent in the matter.

Also, I think other sites are waiting to see if AMD brings a new driver before a performance review comes out.

Also maxing out the game, godrays seems to be the main culprit. Disabling it brings a lot of performance back.

Looks like 60fps @ 1080p with a OC'd 960 with mostly maxed settings .. good stuff. same with black ops 3, hoping Just cause 3 is the same so this 960 can tide me over until Q2/3 next year when the new nvidia cards are released

In Europe that is how it is specified, because the legal system is different and marketing it as 4gb would give every owner option for full refund under European law for false advertisement

What a frigging disgrace.

From what I can see from a lot of different screenshots, godrays seems to impact a lot in closed areas, where the lighting looks almost completely real, vs with it.
On the outside it does looks to be a bit useless, but at night scenes, it does also adds a bit of atmosphere.

But if you are not happy with it, you can always disable it.

I hope so to, people are beating up BO3 for having poor performance vs graphics quality but the GTX 970 performs very similarly in both games (1080p) and that screen shot looks way worse than anything in BO3.
