I didn't mean to act edgy, you just seem to be trolling, and I don't like trolls. You haven't posted any evidence yet to back your statements up. It's been proven time and time again that AMD's hardware has poor tessellation performance. GW has nothing to do with it in the sense that it's not a blackbox as some people are making it out to be. You can argue that they overused tess to hurt AMD more, however they've added the option to reduce tess in Witcher 3, so it's a step in the right direction. It's AMD's fault, though, that their tessellation performance is so bad. 290X is as slow as a GTX 660.

Those games don't come out broken because of GW. Blame the incompetent developers/publishers. Your initial complaint was that 770 performs close to 290X. It's because 290X is bottlenecked by AMD's own driver. Everybody knows that. Haven't you seen AoS benchmarks and how bad AMD's DX11 performance is? Also, GW effects are optional, they can be disabled, and as long as this is the case, I'm fine with it. Some of them perform bad on AMD because they're based around strengths Nvidia's hardware has. Some perform just fine on AMD.

So Pcars, AK etc. are incompetent but you know for a fact that it in this case, Bethesda have done an admirable job and it's just AMD. rolleyes.gif When did drivers per game become an acceptable thing? Gameworks has a track record for this type of thing, it's not as simple as turning features on and off, even though the ignorant make it seem that way.

Secondly, i will never defend AMD's incompetence with drivers, Nvidia is moping the floor with them on that front, i just find it strange that the results we see here are always the case with Gimpworks titles.

So now its in a sense? Where did I mention it was a blackbox? Never said it but its naive to think it has nothing to do with it like you mentioned in your first post. rolleyes.gif

I wonder if there's a test out there comparing the results with Volumetric lighting on/off. This is the Nvidia tech they've implemented in FO4, and we've already seen it tank AMD performance in FC4 and Black Flag iirc. This time there's just no other option besides turning it completely off. The other side of the equation is that the engine is probably CPU heavy in some parts just like Skyrim was, and it doesn't bode well for the poor DX11 multithreading support AMD has. I doubt AMD's performance will increase much with new drivers since the issues are due to architecture limitations. It's still strange to see Fiji performing so poorly compared to Hawaii.

30fps average at 4K on a stock 980 for a game with average graphics is pretty pathetic. I get better frames than that in Unity, Ryse, Shadow of Mordor and other games that look 5 times better. Not to mention the rather significant amount of bugs that reviewers are reporting. Pathetic developers! No, thank you! I will pass for now and maybe pick it up when it's cheaper.

First off, AMD hasn't released drivers for this game yet. Probably today or tomorrow.

Fallout 4 has like 40 billion graphics option. If you take a look at the Nvidia guide you can clearly see that most of the settings at Ultra make no absolutely no visual difference, but still have a big performance impact.

Just because you can put something on Ultra doesn't mean it is a good decision to do so. thumb.gif

According to this, they ran a 390 and 970 on a 4790k at 4.6GHz and it was getting thrashed.

Doesn't bode well for my 2500k. frown.gif
