Your past posts makes me hesitant to even bother arguing with you. I remember arguing with people like you how much better the 780 Ti was compared to the 290x, how did that work out?

Lets come back in a year and see where the 980 stands against AMD's lineup. thumb.gif
Coming from someone that uses the term gimpworks that is really ironic.

seen in what, like 1 alpha benchmark ? that's the reason to say amd "beats nvidia in dx12" now ?
how many disasters have there been ? project cars, tpp, now this.
some people read "amd will catch up" almost as "amd will be better", at least that's what we always hear.

who cares about 980 in a year? I sold it 3 months ago cause it was getting trashed by 980ti. haha, geez, I don't wanna hear from people saying "wait another year and we'll see how 980 does against amd" any more.
God bless your cards, hope they really deliver in a year or so.
every new game, I enjoy looking on how nvidia always delivers spot on drivers at launch as much as I enjoy looking at people frustrated by how amd doesn't while it's the whole world that is to blame.
btw any news on how 9700 Pro stacks up against FX5800 Ultra now ?

Even that isn't true. Once Nvidia updated their drivers for say...Ashes...they were either on par, or slightly beating AMD. So let's not get too hasty.

Despite this bad news, I have a Green Man Gaming Voucher Code if anyone wants it? 20% OFF Fallout 4.

Also, performance issues tied to God Rays. Ultra and Low look the same yet there's a 40fps difference. After all, Tessellation within lighting is hard to see.

Tesselation for tesselation's sake is nothing new.

I'm well aware of this. Look at Crysis 2 for example. Balls of Tess under the ground. And endless oceans under it too.

I think it's time to boycott Bethesda.

I really really hate gameworks. More than often it makes games uglier and more sluggish (Final Fantasy XIV). It appears that the light rays look better, but let's be honest when you've got Bethesda on graphics they don't do a whole lot. Practically any improvement is an improvement. The light ray the supplied that isn't game works is crap. I've seen better that do not impact FPS in games period.

We already know this since the minimum specs said that a HD7870 was equal to a gtx 550 ti
Quote:
NVIDIA GTX 550 Ti 2GB/AMD Radeon HD 7870 2GB or equivalent
over-tessellation probably not but maybe a very big cpu bottleneck due to poor coding. Probably the later and therefore a big fat middle finger to anyone that bought it. #debacle
They are lucky that I it is almost impossible to not like Fallout games but we all know their engine/coding sucks it did in skyrim it did in FO3 it did in FO nv and it will in FO4 no surprise just the usual.

Do you know what card i owned before the 290x ( that i bought a week ago) ? Do you know that i just bought it to hold me over until Pascal/ Greenland? Funny how you imply i'm a fanboy just because i call garbage middleware that hurts the competition, gimpworks. To me, anyone who defends such practices is the fanboy.

So on one hand i hear everyone saying how bad AMD drivers are, and how poor the overhead is compared to Nvidia, and even with that overhead they still compete well with Nvidia cards . But then on the other hand, you act like it's a long shot that AMD will benefit more from DX12 than Nvidia will, even though the whole purpose of the API is to get rid of driver overhead.rolleyes.gif

It's Nvidia's habit.Nvidia really love to Exploit! If AMD's Tessellation is as fast as Nvidia's Tessellation one , I'm sure Nvidia will find a way to exploit something to hurt more to AMD.It's their Job.They call it competition.
