Lack of 4:4:4 chroma is mostly visible in photo editing and web design. For your tasks this TV may be good enough, but you can always return it back within a certain period.

Here's how to fix this:
1. Enter the Service Menu (Menu 0000)
2. Select Others.
3. Change Mount Config from ro to rw. (ro means Read Only. rw means Read/Write.)
4. Exit.

So VUDU does not have a 4k option. Went ahead and paid for the upgraded netflix 4k. Great, there is no UHD option on the Netflix app . I don't think the apps support 4k at all.

The Netflix app has a section of 4K movies in the GUI ribbon and not a selection of resolutions. I can confirm that SE42UGT Netflix app does support 4K movies.

Thanks man ,I jump the gun there. It takes 24 hours for uhd option to show up.

I inadvertently posted this issue as a new thread... my SE42UGT just went bad. All HDMI inputs show distorted image. You can see pics and more info in the thread below:

Doesn't appear to work. If you change input, or turn off, it will revert the changes. It is weird, some things do appear to save, others don't. (like VIP keeps turning itself on which is highly annoying).

As for using it as a gaming monitor, I am gonna say no. There is still input lag, it isn't that bad, but it's noticeable, and annoying.

Thanks to all the info in this thread, I grabbed a SE42UGT from a local hhgregg a couple of days ago; but having trouble running it @ 4k 60Hz. I have it connected to a GTX 670 through club 3d DP to HDMI adapter under win 10, nvidia drivers are up to date. HDMI EDID is set to 2.0, I'm using an old 3 feet 1.3 HDMI cable, I can run it @ 2160 30Hz max.

I used CRU to force 60HZ, but after I run restart64.exe, the tv switches to 2288x1430 for some reason; but no higher resolution. Using nvidia & default windows display software, none shows 60hz, when I create a custom resolution in nvidia's software, I get "test failed.. your monitor doesn't support this resolution" window. I tried the nvlddmkm-patcher-1.3.5, but that didn't help either. Is there something else I need to change in the settings? Or could it be the HDMI cable?

I don't think that gpu supports HDMI 2.0, that's the only way to get 4k @ 60, aside from the DP adapter route.

It doesn't, which is why I bought the adapter.
