Yet another 'what GPU'... Complex models at speed for CAD

My research seems to go around in circles!

I want a GPU.
I use it for CAD and from my research, the GPU for my software is only used to move around in model space, in open GL.
If I have a complex model, trees and stuff, there are a lot of triangle counts right, and if the mem needed for the triangles is exceeded in GPU then it spits some out into normal memory, which is bad.

So, I figured I need big fast GPU memory and everything else is not so important.
Meaning 8gb of DDR5 is where I'm at right now. Am I on the right track?

What things exactly do you think I need to look for?
Maybe there are other factors like texture whatevers and cudas and streams and all the things that might or might not make a difference to a CAD model.
You should know that all of the rendering in my software is in CPU, so GPU is only to move around a complex model, sort of like gaming I guess.

Thanks and sorry for the newbie questions.

autocad?2d or 3d?

Archicad 19. It uses cinerender for CPU renders. OPen GL for moving around the model.

PSU is a corsair, 1000w so power is not an issue.
Length is, I want to mod it into an inwin 901, which is an mitx case haha. So no 300mm cards...

That test is a joke. They compare super expensive quadro cards that have 12gb mem to an R9 260 or a 750 GTX

Why would I get a GTX 970?
Does it leap over tall buildings in a single bound? Or at least let me zoom around them.

checking again the graphics, the 260x has bad performance for this, but for a worstaiton card that dlivers the best performance/price the w5900 is the best choice
