we have stickies in the forums. very few use them. even sadder is that people dont point out they are there and spoon feed people information. its really annoying when people dont use the search feature and ask for the ten billionth time 'what fans do i use for a rad?'
the forums are failing more and more.
trainplane asked a question. you fed him exactly what 2 stickies say for newbs to have at least some information. if you want me to say nothing to you, either tell people to read the stickies or tell them what the stickies wont. you may as well have answered his question with, yes it will be enough. you accomplished the same thing. a rough idea means nothing when it is irrelevant. if you dont like that, look at what works and what you posted as a rough idea. you posted over twice the rad space. wasted money for some people on a budget. and before you come back whining again, stop and think of this in a way other than you from your hurt point of view.

I feel you are being incredibly rude about this topic.

im not being rude. neither of you read my post. i posted it to give information. you didnt read the post and tried backing up nock. bad idea.

people come to the forums and want spoon fed information. go to someones shop and ask them the same questions that get asked here. they will throw you out as basic info and advanced info is not free from a business man. basic knowledge and info is free here on the forums. if you cant be bothered to find it and read it, it isnt important to you. there is a reason there are stickies. there are reasons people refuse to answer basic questions. you want me to build you a loop? pay me dont ask for my knowledge in a forum until you have researched yourself.

if im wrong on either account, go get a mod or a long time member of the water cooling forum.

Getting this thread back on topic, a 560 will be adequate to cool your components. The more surface area you have to dissipate heat the slower you can run your fans, so if you're a quiet freak like me you might want more rads, but a 560 will get the job done.

Sorry pc-illiterate is being obtuse and nitpicking meaningless points. Don't be fooled - most of the people on this forum are agreeable and willing to help.

To answer the original post, yes 560mm is more than adequate. If you would like to discuss this further please send me a PM.

Personally, I do too. More so with comments like;

No one here is technically wrong, but also they aren't ultimately right. Can a system be cooled with just a 280 rad? Sure. Is it always ideal? No. I have a 3x140.3 rad box that keeps my computer extremely cool with next to no sound ( it's in the basement below me so the only fan I can hear is my power supply fan ). All it's cooling is a single cpu + gpu... could I get away with a lot less ( 120mm-240mm? )? Yes. But it wouldn't be nearly as cool as it is now and would require some serious fans to do it upping the noise level. Is it wasted money? Not at all. Wasted money is the 4x 180.3 radiators I have laying around not being used, though I may make a rad box for those and use them instead of the ones I use now.

To the OP, yes a single 560mm radiator is more than enough for your setup.

nock was whining in his post before i pointed out he was whining. so, big whip dee doo.
i also read both original posts before they were edited. people dont like to read and get hurt because they arent agreed with. prove they are wrong and they whine. look at post 8. post 9, he backed up a 'friend' without any research. bad move.

youve got points shrak. what makes it hilarious is the fact all i said was the rule of thumb is a waste and irrelevant. you dont need that much rad and provided proof. that caused nock to think his feelings were hurt. if im considered rude for pointing out someone is hurt and whining, i dont care. im a rude s.o.b. with no feelings.

as far as you go trainplane, read the stickies. read everything you can. if you still have questions, then ask. at least show people you want to know what does what and why and why not. know the basics that shows people you are serious. you need that knowledge to not only build your loop but also maintain it.

Good catch! I meant the 140SP model. I have updated the post.

No clue where you got that silly notion from. I was merely pointing out that you were making this subject matter more complex than it needs to be.

OP asked a simple, straight forward question that demands a simple straight forward answer.

I did say you didn't say anything incorrect, just that it was over the top. Even stated that the "as much as you can" answer is a really good one. So I apologize if you found this offensive. Wasn't my intent to do so. Do keep in mind that there is a learning curve to this sort of thing just like with everything else. There is a reason we are still taught Newtonian Gravity in school before being taught Relativistic gravity.

Mock not Nock, bit dyslexic lately. I'm just getting fed up with some of the crap going on with the forums and my new medication along with the side effect of insomnia doesn't help. I've recieved a few messages asking what the problem is. Apparently I was no better on less than 2 other forums lately. I logged into another fave forum and had a few friends message me about posts there as well over the last week.
I'll be sticking to reading and try my best to refrain from responding until we get my new meds sorted. I am a rude SOB I'll admit. Usually I'm not a total summer's eve.
Enjoy your evening all.

No worries, I know I'm an abrasive jerk, just my nature though. Hence why I try and apologize when someone seems offended by something I say since even when im not trying to be a clown it still comes across that way to others.
