Dexin Theron A9500 Laser Mouse

I bought a Dexin...err...TT Esports mouse. Yeah, I know laugh all you want...

At least it was $25.

This mouse is Dexin'd.

Mouse weighs 136g(w/o cable) with all weights in. 106g without.

Dexin has a huge fetish for tiered or layered interior pcb designs. Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

This mouse weighs too much frankly. Not only that but the way the mouse is built there are few easy ways to cut weight.

So by now I've decided that this was $25 down the drain without heavy modifications applied to the shell.

Hoping for something positive, I brought out the trusty wire test setup to test added click delay.

There were three(1.0,1.2,1.3) firmwares I was able to find. Also available for download were the Dexin Button Response Tool, Dexin Lift Off Tool and the Dexin Theron software.

Plan for testing was...
1.Test without any software or firmware updates installed.
2.Test with Dexin Button Delay Tool active
3.Update to v1.0fw then re test
4.Update to v1.2fw then re test
5.Update to v1.3fw then re test

Aight wire to wire setup:

Oh, and the LED's are ridiculously bright on default. Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

I was greeted with this...

Garbage tier. But no need to panic! Dexin Button Response Tool will have a 1ms option and all will be well!

Right...?

Seriously?

While I'm disgusted, I'll check to see how the highest setting looks(36ms)

Well, they didn't lie that's for sure!

Time to update the firmware!

Let's try v1.2 then...

That was what greeted me upon launch. Good old engrish.

Let's actually update it then!

Jesus....

Maybe it saved this mouse!?

Hopeless now. Let's just update to v1.3 and be done with this...

I can't even do that apparently... Oh wait, something popped up in the directory....

They don't even try and hide it.

I don't even know if I feel like putting it back together now....

However! The salmosa that I put in my mouse rotation recently has a new storage bag! Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

I didn't pay $25 for that though. I was under the impression I was buying a gaming mouse, not something with slower button response then a WMO.

I had the idea just now to post something on tt esports forum, but I've read enough of their forums to know the reply.

"We'll contact the software team right away!"

TTesports is focused on the Asian market and they couldn't care less about anything else.

They can't even make a small and lightweight mouse too.
