Which 144hz 1ms Monitor ~$250 range

I have been mainly looking at the BenQ XL2411Z and fan favorite ASUS VG248QE. I see there are other models. Which has the best color, and which is the best overall choice?

http://www.amazon.com/VG248QE-1920x1080-DisplayPort-Ergonomic-Back-lit/dp/B00B2HH7G0/ref=lp_1292115011_1_2?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1447223363&sr=1-2

Also, does amazon treat monitors like graphics cards or TV's, where you have to return NiB? Or can you open them and use em and test the color, and maybe return if it is not as expected.

Spend extra on the LG 24GM77. The BenQ monitors have poor colours and contrast compared to the LG and both the AOC and VG248QE are 100% pointless since they uses PWM which ruins motion clarity (example), and the Asus is easily topped by TN panels from 2006 image quality wise when its blur free Lightboost mode is enabled. Amazon offers a 30 day return policy for open monitors, plus extra time to ship the monitor back.

Ah thank you, I will definitely consider the LG 24GM77, any other monitors to consider under $300 besides those 4?

No, nothing compares to the LG in the 300$ range in terms of consistency and all around performance.

So far two of these have been tested: one with terrible sub 2.0 preset gamma (this reviewer used an inaccurate Spyder 4 which can't measure contrast properly, but the gamma results should be close), and the unit Toms Hardware tested which is pretty good once the gamma is set to On and it is set to the sRGB mode. I would not recommend it since the LG is better, and because the OP can't use Free-Sync with a 270x.

The 270x doesn't support Free-Sync.

well, it works with GCN1.1 GPUs or newer but if you get a GPu that can get a playable framerate
