I don't understand some of these UI changes, especially the massive right click menus on the taskbar, start menu. I understand its a hybrid touch/desktop system but come on. Then everywhere else we have our regular menus. Small thing but it irks me that Microsoft is so inconsistent across the OS.
Honestly that right click on the start button menu is something i love. Its a shortcut to the most used tools in the control panel, all a single click away.
The double control panel however is something i find really dumb. Well excuse me, the settings and control panel...

I love that menu too! I only meant the aesthetic changes from the previous versions to the large/spaced out version now. At least it isn't as ridiculous as being pulled from desktop into full screen settings now... but still awful that some options are scattered between either control panel and settings. I mini-rage every time. frown.gif

Yea that and the lack of search (seriously how hard can it be to port the windows 7 search over?) are probably my 2 biggest gripes after having used windows 10 for some time now.

Honestly i can see where they wanted to go. Settings menu with gigantic buttons for touch and the standard control panel for the rest. The problem is that like you said, the options are simply divided between the 2 of them for some godforsaken reason. The first thing to do when trying to find an option is finding the right control panel which is honestly ridiculous.

The search has simply no excuse. Windows 7 one found everything without an issue no matter what drive or what location the file was on and i didn't even need to spell it out completely. Now i keep getting this stupid "These results may be incomplete, search is still indexing your stuff" message for all eternity.

How weird is this, I couldnt get the dang thing to download for days now. Im a windows insider, and been stuck on 10240 since I downloaded windows 10 over a month ago. I got sick of it now showing up, so I unsubscribed to it, and then hit search for updates and there it was ready to download. WTH? So now I signed back up since im running 10586.3, but it doesnt show any newer updates yet. Is there anything newer then the 586.3's?

What I don't know about the rest of that, I can say 10586.3 is AFAIK the latest.

I still see no option to opt out of Microslums privacy invasive data collection.

My data is MY DATA, it does NOT belong to you Microsoft!

After updating my Win 10 Pro 64 it now takes up to 60 sec to log in after i enter my pass, it boots quickly like before but logs in very slowly.

Any thoughts?

If anyone has windows 10 (the first rtm build) and is not seeing an update available just use the Microsoft media creation tool and click upgrade. Worked flawlessly for me.

CHEERS..
Maybe check out start up items in Task Manager. Have a look at the items with a high impact to startup time. Maybe that could help?
