Which Trident X DDR3 memory kit?

Thread Starter
Time to upgrade from 8GB to 16GB. I have a 4790K with a Asus Maximus VII Ranger. Which should I choose?

[TridentX] F3-2133C9D-16GTX

DDR3-2133 (PC3-17000)
16GB (8GBx2)
CL9-11-11-31
1.6 Volt

[TridentX] F3-2400C10D-16GTX

DDR3-2400 (PC3-19200)
16GB (8GBx2)
CL10-12-12-31
1.65 Volt

The 2400 kit is 15 euro more expensive.

But the cas is higher. 2133/9 vs 2400/10. What is more important, speed or cas?

Speed! I run my 2400/10 Trident X sticks 4*4GB @ 2666/C10, but they've seen 2800/C10! biggrin.gif

Depending on your cpu you can benefit more from speed or cas

As far as i know intel = high speed, amd = low cas

Agree. Try to also tighten the latency.

I posted on the G.Skill forum and got some good advice but overall it is trial and test.

I was able to get my Trident X 1600/CL7 running at 2400 10-12-11-28.

the rest of the timings are here: http://www.overclock.net/t/1570386/ddr3-1600-cl7-to-ddr3-2133-or-2400-where-is-the-best-place-to-get-complete-timings/20#post_24369033
