But as always flagships first and 2 months later the mainstream cards.

I thought Greenland was the flagship? From all the reports so far Greenland is the only one not reported as taped out, which leads me to believe that it may not be flagships first.

All speculation of course, I don't think anything has really been confirmed via an official announcement.

Roy Taylor is a idiot.

I remember last year all the crap he made up, then later on apologizing. He has done this countless time.

I am a little baffled by what Raja said. AMD and Nvidia usually does a broad launch of new cards from low to mid to high end when a new architecture arrives. Within a year they launch atleast 6+ new cards

So why only two new cards in 2016? Is it because the cards arrive late and they wont get the momentum up until 2017 because they maybe start launching the cards after the summer or something?

He said 2 GPUs. That means 4 cards at least, (using full chip and cut down one) ,with 5 or 6 cards possible as well. Eg. GK110 saw three core configurations with 780Ti/Τitan Black being the full chip, original titan cut down and 780 even further cut down, GM204 three already, (960/970/980). Nvidia does this quite often actually (Gk204 saw 4 configurations even, 680/670/660ti/760), AMD will probably go this route too, they have done it once recently with Tahiti anyway (7870XT,7950,7970). That said, by the time we start the transition to 14/16nm, 28nm will have been around for 4.5 years and I don't think we are going lower any time soon. GPUs are very back in the pecking order of new nodes, let's get comfortable at 14/16nm because it is gonna see several generations of products.

Perhaps the early days of 14nm are even more dire than 28nm was. Despite the low die sizes of flagships these days due to new nodes being expensive and don't scale without too many failing chips well I still would consider them flagships since there is nothing better really.

But I would like to go back to the days of full fat.

That was still under Rory Read ever since Lisa was put in charge K12 was pushed back and Zen went to server and enthusiast first. The main reason is delays as they don't want their APUs to go without an update for a large amount of time just because the cpu part hasn't been adjusted to fit an APU yet. It's a big change for the APU as they now are forced to have L3 cache or they would have to make adjustments to function without both will take time to implement.

So that jackass AMD_Roy is running the so-called "Content" component of RTG? I guess that means that only Red Team Plus® affiliates will be getting review samples of the R9 400 series, as only they can be trusted to meet his standards of "fairness".

Reviews will be taylored to Roy's taste.

If their GPU is not competitive, they should just shut it down or sell it off. I feel AMD should just concentrate on embedded. At least they are making money in embedded. Forget about CPU and GPU.
