You do that with solid color tape (black works wink.gif) closing the bottom section of the hole of making it smaller, exposing basically the eye only.
Putting semi-transparent tap in front of the eye is just stupid if you think for a moment how the sensor operates.

I know. I tried many ways. When you cover half the opening with tape, the exposed sticky part of the tape becomes a dust and dirt magnet making it easier for dirt to collect onto your sensor. Now I have more problems. Not only did I fix the LOD problem, but now I have to replace the tape because dust/dirt get easily stuck to the sticky part of the tape. And to top it all off, I have to clean the sensor now.

What I don't get is if Fnatic is "by gamers for gamers" ---- wouldn't knowing that gamers use different surfaces or mouse pads come into play? The sensor LOD would need to adjust to whatever surface you use.

Spoiler Alert: The LOD issue does not seem to be apparent IF you use Fnatic's lineup of gaming mouse pads. The sensor seems to be calibrated for their own mouse pads. Shocker, I know.

My solution to Fnatic Flick G1's LOD issues: Switch to another mouse:thumb: I know, 1st World Problems. Shall I go with my Castor, EC2-A or G303?

Yeah, I used to cut out a semicircular piece of paper and stick it to the tape so that the exposed glue wouldn't catch dust.

Funny thing is that Fnatic csgo team does not use the flick, that should tell a lot.

Pick which one you find more comfortable smile.gif (if limited cpi steps is not a problem with the zowie)

I just received this mouse. i should have hailed the warnings in this thread. I do not like the mouse at all. On paper it should be good. Basic simple shape, decent sensor... But the lift off distance is SUPER bad! Going back to amazon.

I am kinda stuck here.. I really like the SteelSeries Sensei shape but NO THANKS to laser mice! I saw the Dream Machine DM1 but also heard bad things about build quality so am really leery to try that out after the fnatic gear debacle.

I tried the Logitech g900 DOA and out of stock everywhere. And Logitech g303 seems to be a bit too small for me and odd shaped. So the only thing that seems to work is the Steel Series Rival and Razer Death Adder. Anything else I should be looking at?

Thanks!

DM1 does not have bad quality. The coating is either hit or miss for some. For me it is just fine, even when my hands get to sweating a little.

The cord could be approved on. The clicks are great. Mouse wheel is a 2.5/5 still doable. Great customer support as well. Pull the trigger.

Just like choosing a car to drive, every sensor has it's fan-base despite all the laser hatred here on OCN grouphug.gif .

Laser sensors are used with hardpads by SC2 / LoL / dota 2 pros actually. It is not bad for that.
At least the A9800 is very responsive with the right firmware + there isn't as much variance on a hardpad.

That SRAV isn't really that much to affect an RTS/MOBA on any surface.

besides the few koreans left in sc2 who still use the g9x (which they use on soft pads btw) and 1 or 2 dota players i know using laser mice (the G602 comes to mind, not even sure if its even a laser mouse actually) i don't know anyone left in the scene who uses laser mice or even hard pads. anyone sponsered by logitech or even razer is using their new optical mice or deathadders/abyssus.

we are pretty much at the point now (and have been for a while) where optical is preferred over laser. the only players i can think of using laser mice are ones sponsored by steelseries using sensei's.

source: im way into the RTS scene (or whats left of it).
