(solved) storage installation question

Thread Starter
I previously had windows installed the c drive on my ssd using one of the 2 sata 6/s slots, and my hdd was the B drive on the other 6/s slot.

I purchased a 1tb ssd and installed it into the second 6/s slot and moved the hdd to one of the slower slots.

*I cant remember what to do to solve this but now my B drive HDD and the new ssd are not displaying in windows at all, what is the process for making them accessible?

In Disk management, the normal windows c ssd is displaying normaly, there is also a disk 1) 894 online unalocated drive, which I assume is the new 1tb ssd, but the mostly used 3tb hdd is not displaying at all.

Hi there,

Are you sure it's not displaying at all? not even like a HDD without anything? Can you show a picture.

I think I got the SSD working, but the HDD is not displaying at all, and it contained a ton of data I really would rather not lose. Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Dont worry, the data are still on the drive, the thing is that if windows is not even reading the HDD looks like it might me off, like it's not even connected to the PC or connected to the power. Just to double check, can you try to see using HD Tune Pro 5.60 if you can see your HDD on the list

I have never used that program before but I just downloaded it,tried it, and as far as I can tell it only has the 128 crucial and the 1tb sandisk shown. Those are the only 2 I can select to show the speed of.

Yeah, that software is good to test the Health of the Drive, do benchmarks, deep format, and a few more things. tongue.gif

Alright then windows is not even reading you HHD, try to boot the computer and check if you can see the HDD on the Bios, If you can't see it then the Drive it's not connected properly or something else is going on.

Okay After playing with it for many hours I encountered a strange problem on the last test.

I have a total of 6 sata slots, the top 2 are the 6/s ones.

I moved all but the windows crucial out of the 6/s slot. I moved the 3tb drive down a notch to a slower one and the sandisk 1tb ssd to the bottom one

*Now: the crucial shows up,as it always did, but the 3tb is back! and the 1tb ssd is gone. I am not really sure how I can solve this.
