You know for a fact I wasn't referring to 190hz panels.

I was clearly talking about this "100hz the difference is not that noticeable, when gaming.".

Now give me a link to a scientific/academic journal proving such. Oh right! There isn't one and like usual you're talking out of your...

That's why DP 1.3 doesn't add much to me. I'm much more interested in an OLED display moving forward from 3440x1440@100Hz. The X34 and PG348Q are great stopgaps until then IMO!

The main reason I consider 120 Hz or more essential, for LCD screens at least, is for blur reduction. 100 Hz blur reduction is pretty crappy, full of strobe crosstalk (worse than unstrobed 100 Hz motion blur) and some will notice the flicker (I notice none in games at least).

Why would their be a popular scientific journal on it, as it is down to opinion and if you look online, people share the same opinion

Let's say there is a small difference between 100hz and 144hz, why wait until next year to experience it, when 2018 will be 4K 21.9, which is a much better experience as is worth waiting for unlike 100hz to 144hz

Smokey if you do some research, you will actually find out

Yeah, what moron ever bothered with a 240hz CRT? rolleyes.gif

As for whether a person should wait or not, who cares? If someone wants to perpetually await the next best thing, then let them. I wonder what kind of stuff you'll be spewing in ten years from now?

30hz - Just an unplayable, horrible mess

60hz - Its "ok", acceptable and looks "ok"

100hz - A massive jump from 60hz, 60>100hz is a big difference.

144hz - Noticeably better than 100hz, mainly in online shooters like CS:GO, less lag, looks smoother, but not as obvious as 60 >100.

165hz - Slightly better than 144hz.

Well as the Acer X34 predator uses the same panel I am sure someone would be able to answer my question.

ASUS PG348Q - 3440x1440p 100hz Gsync 2016

AU Optronics - 3440x1440p 144hz Gsync 2017

LG (hopefully, not AU Optronics again) 5120x2160 60-95hz Gsync 2018

LG - 5120x2160 60-95z OLED Gsync 2019

LG - 5120x2160 144hz OLED Gsync DP 1.4 2020

This is what I expect will happen, so why get the 144hz panel in 2017 when we will get 4K the next year

Because people are free to buy what they want? Why are you asking me?

Dude I simply said, you're wrong to think over 100hz is pointless. Leave me out of your vortex.

No it was carrying on from the conversation earlier, where people want to wait for the 144hz display as DP 1.2 is "old" so they do not want to get it

It was not just addressed at you

Man, I didn't think this was so difficult a concept to understand. The word WORTH has two meanings... you keep referring to one, while I am talking about the other. Let me give you a very simple (and extreme) example. I have a glass of water. You are dying of thirst. I want to charge you £100 for that glass of water. You will gladly pay it, otherwise you may pass out and die. To you, this glass of water is easily worth £100, probably much more. Is it ACTUALLY worth that, no, of course not. I am obviously exaggerating, but simply illustrating the dual meaning of the word "worth" and how it can often have two very different meanings, and which is entirely permissible. Neither definition is wrong necessarily, they are allowed to be in contradiction.
