Asus ROG Swift PG348Q Worth waiting for? - Page 65

Scan has yet to test my monitor, should get it Thursday though, however I expect my EK Predator 360mm to be back on Friday, so that is one or more days my ASUS PG348Q could be sitting in a box frown.gif

Should get mine tomorrow. Untested though. But for the money, just one Dead / Stuck Pixel, and its going back...

Got an email from Overclockers saying its in stock earlier, clicked on the link,1 left in stock in tempting green :-) so went for it.

Thought by the time I got though the checkout process it would be gone, and I'd be stuck will a preorder, but about 10 minutes later got the picked for dispatch and courier info :-)))

I had another thought about my set-up..

Seeing as I only want to game on one monitor, Maybe I will go for 2X Pg279Q's either side of the Pg348Q instead, should be the same height, and all three will be 1440p, and if I do decide to game in surround, ( possibly when I get a new MoBo) it should still work shouldn't it?

It will work however AU Optronic panels, it will be hard to find a good one with a small amount of backlight bleed and IPS glow, I would get two Dell U3415W, unless you really want to try and get a good AU Optronics panel

I really hope mine has no dead pixels, small amount of backlight bleed/IPS glow, no coil whine and 100hz, as if I have to get Scan to test another one, I will have to wait until 26th February frown.gif

I have just e-mailed overclockers, I hope they are not screwing their loyal customers here - I have pre-ordered (and paid!) this since over three weeks and not received any notification that it is being shipped. Will be back to report on that once they open tomorrow I guess.

Now for some more good news. One owner is reporting no scanlines on his unit here: http://forum.hardware.fr/hfr/HardwarePeripheriques/Ecran/ces2016-pg348q-nvidia-sujet_67785_4.htm#t867390 I know some x34 owners reported not having any, but it seemed the majority did.

He has posted a completely clear image of the pendulum demo with g-sync on at 100hz on the left side of his panel. thumb.gif

Hoping for more reports soon.

Most of the customer reviews, all be it in foreign languages have been very positive so far :-)

I expect there will be some English language owners posting reviews within the next few days, maybe even some tech sites.

I think you are right, The dell U3415w will do, I'm really not that fussed about surround.

Will look a bit strange though until I get them on a triple stand or maybe two on arms as I don't think there are any 34" ultra wide Triple stands available yet..

I've only bought a few things from OC in the past, but expensive items, so not sure how 'Loyal' a customer that makes me :-/

I phoned OC shortly after I got the ready for dispatch notice. The man I spoke to said pretty much the same thing as someone here quoted scan as saying, that they only got 8 units in, and all of them have been allocated to preorders, so when I told him I only ordered half an hour ago and its already prepared for dispatch he sounded a little surprised. It was totally a fluke, got the stock notification though, saw one left in stock, and hurried though the purchase proses hoping id get it.

I've checked the DPD info they gave me this evening and its definitely in the system...

Not sure what to say, sometimes when I order from Scan I don't get the dispatch notice until after 9.30pm at night...
