Asus ROG Swift PG348Q Worth waiting for? - Page 70

To be fair, I dont understand why people buy this expensive monitor just to drive it with a GTX 970 or worse. I mean you wont be able to play stuff on the highest settings or make that sweet 100 fps/hz spot in games.

IMO you're better off buying a normal 34" 21:9 without g-sync and the 100 hz overclock for less than half the price of this PG348Q.

The Acer X34 had complaints of buzzing and whining coming from the monitor especially in a silent room.
Can you hear any at all, no matter how feint.
Thanks

Yes, but you'll KICK yourself if a 1440p 21:9 144Hz monitor is released shortly after Pascal! There are some panels announced, so it won't be long. No release date or any info at all for Pascal yet.

And what if a 4K 200hz penal come after next generation? It's like an unending loop. I can keep this monitor for 4~5 years, there always some new products coming out, and lets see what new tech will be released. We got plenty of time to wait. I'm great satisfied with all my setting now, thats the piont.

slow down man! we dont have DP 1.3 yet, even if it will be supported by Pascal, monitors with DP 1.3 will not be available before 2017.

Panels announced? Yes and it will take at least a year or more for it to be availlble for consumers.

Ive got x34 since october and its awesome. Im waiting for Pascal also.

And by the way, upgrade form 100 to 144 hz its not going to be a big difference anyway, its much smarter will be to wait for OLED 21:9 144 hz. That will be a worth to upgrade. But that is a good 2-3 years away, for now we will enjoy our 21:9 100hz monitors smile.gif

and You can keep waiting smile.gif

Well now my EK Predator 360mm is not coming tomorrow, will have to wait until Saturday, so my monitor will be in a box just sitting there, doing nothing, as I currently have to use another computer (FX 4100 and 5850) which will not run the monitor

The first once will probably be like the Acer X34, not 100%. You then have to wait again till something hits the market that is fully 100% functioning. And you can always wait for the best next thing to come.
