Asus ROG Swift PG348Q Worth waiting for? - Page 80

Haven't seen anyone mention if the monitor has a gamma option yet.

On the scanlines, it's no surprise to me that the PG348Q has the same fault. I was holding out hope but after Acer basically admitted it's an issue they can't fix, it wasn't likely that Asus would somehow be able to.

Having said that, a lot of people won't notice the scanlines. I showed a friend the Pendulum demo on my X34 and he couldn't even see what was talking about without putting his face an inch away from the screen.

I agree. My first x34 got pretty bad after a couple of weeks. People that knew nothing about the issue were able to notice it when entering the room providing I was doing something that could produce scanlines, however my second unit was much better and no one could see them, including myself unless I was running the pendulum demo.

If my PG348Q is like my second x34, I'll be satisfied. I mainly switched for warranty issues and the swivel, and small delusions of a world free of scanlines.

3) Does it have any coil whine?

Thanks.

The scan lines might be fixed, need more samples

Hopefully they reply again with some good news for us North American people.

It will be quite a while before Asus shows North America any love. It is just the way they are.

Mad hasn't provided pictures yet, but what are you ignoring his claim for?

Nevermind, I almost forgot who I was talking to.

Too true. It was almost exactly two weeks from the time the PG279Q appeared in Sweden, to when it first appeared on Newegg.com, and another three days for it to appear on Newegg.ca.

What do you mean, I am just saying some people have said they do not have any scan lines, only one person so far has said about scan lines (cannot test mine yet)

Well someone said they have a PG348Q with scanlines.... that basically means the PG348Q will have scanlines, probably some slightly better or worse, or people not testing it properly or noticing them etc etc.

If that one person does have scanlines, then it isn't fixed...

Well that person might have a faulty monitor, we need more samples before we can say the ASUS PG348Q has scan lines
