Asus ROG Swift PG348Q Worth waiting for? - Page 85

No gamma options? How is that possible?

Same panel as X34 folks, same issues. Don't know why anyone is surprised to see the same problems cropping up. The mind boggles.

Brightness is set at 30.
Honestly, the bleeding is really acceptable, as well for IPS glow.

I only had one X34 that had awful bleeding but overall, I got very good panels.

I agree with you, PG348Q isn't better than X34 except for the 3 years warranty.

On the other hand BLB is really minimal as I said, here some pictures (half dark room, forgot to check in fully dark room last night). Even though it is angled the second picture is a better representation of actual BLB.

Given that based on Acer's admission and the findings so far every OC monitor with this panel seems to have scanlines I think I might just keep it and wait for something 'better' to come out in a year from now. Certainly not going back to my 24"

Its funny they are almost all exactly the same as this, some blb top left and bottom, left, some moderate IPS glow on the left of the screem and nothing really visible on the right, every X34 or PG348Q I have seen has the same BLB, just slightly better or worse, but always the same pattern.

I am not surprised at all, I already said it will very likely be exactly the same, and I already said it will possibly not have coil and whine and probably not have gamma options and probably still have scan lines lol, but I thought there was a very small possibility it would be different,

I would go as far as to say the PG348Q is looking like the worse monitor out of the 2, basically because of the gamma options and worse speakers, if it turns out some of the PG348Q have coil whine as well then I see no reason, other than aesthetics, to pay more for one, actually more reasons not to buy one (mainly the gamma)... I would rather have the speakers on the X34, the gamma options on the X34 and an extra £90, than a joystick for the OSD (which you spend a few days tweaking and then rarely use anyway) and slightly nicer bezel, the only thing there I would pay extra for would be no coil whine, and also I prefer Asus to Acer, but not even by much anymore after Acer released the new predator brand and the amount of negative reports about ROG monitors... but as the asus has the same or possibly worse BLB and scanlines from what I am seeing / reading here, and might start getting reports of PG348Q with coil whine IDK.....

It smells like fanboy/hateboy around there, loop repeating the same thing again and again and again...

What a silly comment,... I prefer Asus to Acer, although not so much for ROG monitors after everything I have read or experienced myself, also the predator brand from Acer seems to be a step up from their previous gaming monitors... I am literally just stating the pro / con...

If the PG348Q had consistently no backlight bleed, no scanlines, no coil whine AND gamma options, then I would think differently, but from first reports the PG348Q is basically the same... with a joystick, less coil whine (so far), and a slightly nicer bezel... other than that it has no gamma options, worse speakers, and the same problems with backlight bleed and scan lines (possibly worse according to some people)..

Do you find the image quality that much better on the x34 gamma wise? Have you tested the gamma on your PG348Q?

I really need swivel, and the warranty would be nice, but I'm considering just grabbing a third x34 at this point since they've gotten cheaper. Gamma lottery is worse than BLB lottery. Might just hold off for more reports as well.

You could get an X34 and a monitor arm, for the same price as a PG348Q... A monitor arm is better than any monitor stand.

ACER Predator X34 disadvantages

Many samples are not reaching 100hz
Many samples have coil whine
Scan lines
Glossy plastic
Two years warranty
Not got swivel

ASUS PG348Q disadvantages

Scan lines
More expensive

So can I ask, why would you buy the "budget" monitor when you can get a much better monitor with less problems
