Acer has addressed many of the problems on the Predator X34 and there was worldwide recall, which is the main reason why I've had to wait almost 2 months for my Predator X34 (ordered in december)...

Asus of course has many of the early problems in Predator X34 fixed, because it was released many months later and they had Acer doing "beta testing" of the same panel and it's overclocking quirks. It's way too early to state the PG348Q winner, because there is way less units in the market vs Predator X34.

Well more people seem to be getting 100hz, less people are getting coil whine, three years warranty and it has swivel, so the ASUS PG348Q is much better (from samples so far) which is why the ACER Predator X34 is the "budget" option

Have you seen any reports of coil whine on the PG348Q? Just wondering if they all definitely do not have coil whine, or if some do and some don't.

I have not seen any reports of coil whine, seen around 10 reviews now

I waited for asus and knew it would be a better 34in by a long shot,

so if you need to keep trying to compare then just go with the cheaper option which would be the acer and be done with it,

have anyone heard when asus rog will be in the usa? preorder is fine also.

If I was buying again today, I'd still get the X34. IMO no gamma adjustment doesn't make up for the things the PG348Q is better at (improved OSD controls, swivel stand adjustment).

Since both have tradeoffs there is no clear winner here, it just depends on personal preference really.

How do you know if the gamma is not good enough (it could be great out of the box) I would rather get 100hz (unlike most ACER Predator X34 samples) and have less coil whine, then get the option to change gamma, which could be good on the ASUS PG348Q anyway

I don't care about speakers and gamma setting (my U2713HM doesn't really have one and I live with it) but warranty and swivel are important to me.
However I won't pretend that PG348Q is better than X34 unless future reviews spots a real difference in QC.

So, worth waiting for ? Yes if it fills your needs.

No Dead / Stuck pixels, zero scan line at 100hz, no noticeable backlight bleed, but as its IPs a little glow, but extremely small just on the top left edge, and not really worth mentioning.

Looks like a got good one smile.gif

I've had to work today so haven't tested many games, I did run the Bioshock Infinite benchmark at 3440 x 1440 100hz in 4-way sli, and obviously I do take a hit in performance on the DX11 ultra test, but lowest was 55fps average was 90 fps, max was 500 but that's at fade in/out sections, 200fps seems to be the mark for most of the first test. This was around the 400fps mark on my 1920 x1220 monitor.

No problems getting the 100hz refresh rate. As long as there is something going on on screen the refresh toggle works every quickly.

Tested Metro Last Light, everything at ultra, was also averaging around 90fps.

Probably wont get a chance to test it out properly in games until the weekend

Not ideal but I don't plan on upgrading my Titans until pascal.

I haven't tested to see if a single Titan can achieve 100hz yet.

Very happy so far with the monitor smile.gif)

Low blue light setting is not bad, you can notice the difference in colour reproduction, but its very slight until level 4 which is unusable IMO.

Pai £999.95 for mine, definitely getting a second UltaWide :-)

I'll post some pics at the weekend.

CES we usually get the latest on monitors Mobo's etc, but the juicy info in GPU's doesn't usually surface until the GTC in April. I think that's when we will Know for sure about if Pascal is to be or not to be this year...

Still waiting for those pictures smile.gif

You could get one with perfect gamma out of the box but that's not guaranteed. There's always unit to unit variation. It just adds to the lottery, and it could have been avoided if they included gamma adjustment.

Maybe the PG348Qs have a better chance of always getting 100 but considering it shares most of the same issues as X34 I doubt it. We will need a bigger sample size to judge the overclock and coil whine issues.
