Hello new to forum, and dont mean to trouble any one but I was doing a windows install, and my screen turned completely white!!! *** unplugged re-plugged, complete shut down is there any way to repair like getting a new circuit board seems impossible, or even finding out if I can fix it by new circuit board. There web site uses strong Korean and translator doesn't help. So thought I would try you guys and see if any body can help me salvage this expensive paper weight, into the monitor that it should be. Used it for awhile and worked awesome, just decided to die. As soon as the power button is hit the screen turns on and is white, or grey, it does the same thing when disconnected from GPU. Cant even see the the menu options, so its not the pc, because I'm using another monitor. Works just fine.
Any real help would be appreciated.

google the monitor's brand model replacement screen sale

Yup tried that, ebay had one for a 27q nothing for 289, it sucks I liked the monitor, now its dead. I dont think iits the screen cause it does show white or grey, seems to be the board. Could be wrong though, knowledge of monitors only goes so far. Or even if there is some repair that I could do the board, ok with a soldering gun. capacitor etc.

What goes on inside of a 289 28" version, no blown capacitors (S.O.L.) that would of been a easy fix
Everything was pretty clean overheating issues.

Any idea if circuit board or actual screen, thought of trying to contact crossover, and hope the translator works, hope for more communication than just a blank stare as I try to explain.

Circuit-board cheap repair shipping etc. over-seas

actual screen and shipping I'm sure whole other ball game

Petey, this monitor is just a B grade Dell UltraSharp 32 Ultra HD 4K Monitor with PremierColor - UP3216Q. You should easily be able to buy a new board. But, first, I would take a volt meter and check the voltage coming from the power brick and see if it's in spec. If you monitor failed during a windows install that leads me to think that something is wrong software wise also. I'd make sure my DP on my video card supports 4k, many dont, update drivers etc etc. Something is amiss and I've NEVER seen a board die from an install of software unless it created an issue with support.

Yeah, I checked and if you're still running the HD6970 it will not push this display. I copied this directly from the radeon site.

DisplayPort 1.2
Max resolution: 2560x1600 per display
Multi-Stream Transport
21.6 Gbps bandwidth
High bit-rate audio
HDMI® (With 3D, Deep Color and x.v.Color™)
Max resolution: 1920x1200
Dual-link DVI with HDCP
Max resolution: 2560x1600

VGA

Max resolution: 2048x1536

So, even if it worked with another OS which probably just automatically dropped the res.

My advice, put the monitor back together, hook up two monitors to the 6970 and go into gsync setting and set a custom profile for 2k or 2560x1440 for this monitor even if it doesn't recognize it and restart computer. Worth a shot.

Just an fyi, use dvid on 6970 on the known working monitor since dvid is legacy output for that card and use hdmi for the crossover. Good luck.

The 32in 324ss or k is a good monitor. At 2k, I run mine at 100hz and it has very occasional frame skipping, like one every 10 seconds. I've found that this is a B grade Dell 4k monitor and looked for the forums on that monitor and found that even the dell $1100 version A grade suffer from some of the very same problems as mine. The color profiles that I found on the Dell forum REALLY bring this monitor to life. For what you pay for it it can't be beat. I have the version that doesn't have Freesync so I'm going to buy another that does, or maybe another model that will have freesync 2 since I have a Vega 64 now. hehe. Haven't got the computer built yet but the pile of parts is complete with 1800x, Asus CH6, Vega 64, Dual 480mm EK cooling with seperate pumps and res in a LARGE Enthoo Primo which has been modded. Can't wait.

I kind of figured there would be a firmware update released for this monitor. Since Crossover is actually pretty good at releasing firmware updates for its monitors. Even if its just to fix the random graphic glitch that shows up for that split second every now and then. But adding freesync would also be nice.

But I couldn't find any firmware updates for it on the crossover website. Especially since I have to use google translate all the time on it. Anyone else find a firmware update for it?

still running my 324k still got the occasional screen flash and lines glitch. don't count on any firmware update though for a low price screen...
