With AMD announcing software support for HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.2 to HDMI 2.0 active adapters with its Radeon Software Crimson Edition, various AMD AIB partners could jump in with such adapters. Club 3D, which has been making dongles, converters, and adapters, besides AMD Radeon graphics cards, announced its entry. The company announced two active adapters - standard DisplayPort 1.2 to HDMI 2.0, and mini-DisplayPort 1.2 to HDMI 2.0. Both support 4K Ultra HD (3840 x 2160 pixels), with 60 Hz refresh rate display mode. The company didn't announce pricing.
AMD has been promising this as a solution since the Fury came out. There STILL not available, and still no price on this one. Ones from China are still over $100. Hopefully this one will be less expensive and available "soon".
LOL! Yea! I had to pick up a GTX 970 for my 4K tv (for some lower IQ). Now I can move my AMD Crossfire VAPOR-X R9 290X 8GB setup to it and upgrade to a couple FURY X on my main rig haha
The next question will be ... sure it will do 4:4:4 and be HDMI 2.0, but will it have HDCP 2.2 so it can display ENCRYPTED content (aka Ultra HD Blu-ray) at 4:4:4?
After the mess that adapters were for eyefinity with tahiti, I am going to have to wait for MANY reviews over a large stretch of time before I can consider this a solution. I picked up 980s instead of 290Xs because I needed the HDMI 2.0, so the time to market for a solution lost AMD my business this last round.
Aslo, I just dont like adapters...why cant we just have the technology built into the cards? How much would it have really added to the cost of the cards?
Edit:
Curious if this will allow my old 7970s to push 4k 60hz 4:4:4 since they are DP 1.2
I have the Club3D DP 1.2 to HDMI 2.0 adapter and it works great from my testing. Below are Chroma 4:4:4 testing and refresh rate validation testing on my Vizio 70" P702ui-B3 @ 4K all passing.
Also If anyone is interested.... with my 5960X / Nano build I am getting 50-55 FPS on BF4 @ 4K on High settings. 45 FPS on Ultra preset..... Pretty amazing for such a small little card.
I remember reading somewhere that the 900 series GPUs would only support 4:2:0 chroma 4k/60hz. If that's not true then that changes things a little bit, but either way this adapter is pretty sweet if it works without issues.

At least these dongles seem to be coming out faster than DP 1.2 MST hubs. Those took like 3 years to actually emerge all the while AMD insisted on putting only one or two DP's on their cards reasoning that anyone who wants to run 6 displays can do so though MST hub.
There's cards with mDP so they also sell an mDP one.
